“The Social Network” is about a young man who possessed an uncanny ability to look into a system of unlimited possibilities and sense a winning move. His name is Mark Zuckerberg, he created Facebook, he became a billionaire in his early 20s, and he reminds me of the chess prodigy Bobby Fischer. There may be a touch of Asperger’s syndrome in both: They possess genius but are tone-deaf in social situations. David Fincher manages to pull off two amazing feats with The Social Network. The first is that he has made a bio-pic that does not feel like a bio-pic. It is paced so well, and shot with such precision that even if it were not based on a real story, it would have been a great film. It helps that the subject is fresh and interesting, but there are a whole bunch of movies that are based on real events that do not come close to The Social Network. The second thing he does is to create a movie that does not have one specific character that you end up rooting for. He tells the story and leaves the interpretation to the audience of who is right, which is a bold decision. International Social Network Trailer
A new international trailer is now online for The Social Network starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake. The film, directed by David Fincher (Fight Club), is loosely based on Ben Mezrich’s non-fiction novel The Accidental Billionaire and focuses on the tumultuous early years of Facebook.

Columbia Pictures have launched the interactive trailer for David Fincher‘s The Social Network which opens on October 1st 2010.
The Social Network is based on the book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, which tells the story behind the controversial birth of the website. Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield play Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, while Justin Timberlake stars as Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster and the founding president of the site. The film’s screenplay was written by award-winning writer Aaron Sorkin.

Columbia Pictures has launched the official website for The Social Network and released 46 new photos from the film.
Based on Ben Mezrich’s book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, The Social Network tells the story of Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg, the founders of Facebook. The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin, and the 162-page first draft has been described as “Unpredictable, Funny, Touching and Sad.”

Columbia Pictures has revealed the teaser trailer The Social Network, director David Fincher’s drama about the creation of Facebook. And it really is a teaser.
Though we don’t get to see any images from the film, we do get a bunch of dramatic line readings from Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, as well as several qualifiers about his personality.

Eisenberg, Timberlake And Garfield In Fincher’s “Social Network”
David Fincher and Columbia Pictures revealed the lead cast for “The Social Network,” new Fincher’s movie – Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield.
Eisenberg (“Adventureland,” “Zombieland”) will play Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook’s founding president.
Garfield (“Red Riding Trilogy,” “Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”) will star as Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who fell out with Zuckerberg as the social network became a financial juggernaut.
David Fincher To Direct Facebook Movie
Columbia Pictures is in advanced talks with David Fincher (“Se7en,” “Zodiac,” “Panic Room,” “Fight Club,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button“) to direct “The Social Network” (working title) the movie about the formation of Facebook.
The script written by Aaron Sorkin is based on Ben Mezrich’s upcoming book, “The Accidental Billionaires,” which is set to be released this summer. Mezrich also wrote the book, “Bringing Down the House,” that the recent film “21″ was based on.
