“Max Payne” Six New Photos
Six pictures from the upcoming “Max Payne” have been released one day after trailer pop up on-line.
In the film, Mark Wahlberg plays Max Payne, a former NYPD Detective with internal and external conflicts in a dark, sinister New York City. Max Payne joins the DEA after his baby daughter and wife are slaughtered in their house by psychotic junkies, high on a new designer drug. Tracking the drug to the mafia, Payne is framed for the murder of his partner and becomes entwined in a heavy conspiracy. The series is known for its Matrix-like bullet-time, graphic violence and profanity. With all of that the movie is slated for a PG-13 rating, am I the only one in the world who wants this to be an R rated movie, after all it’s based on an M rated game.
John Moore, whose most recent projects include the war actioner “Behind Enemy Lines“, the horror remake “The Omen“, and the airborne adventure “Flight of the Phoenix“, is directing from a script by Beau Thorne.
“Max Payne” is scheduled to hit theaters on October 17th. [ViaFirstShowing]
International ‘The Happening’ Poster and Restricted Trailer

A new international poster and restricted trailer for “The Happening” has popped up online. The upcoming thriller is the first R-rated feature film from director M. Night Shyamalan. His new film, centering around an apocalyptic crisis, stars Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel, John Leguizamo, Betty Buckley, Spencer Breslin and Ashlyn Sanchez. Shyamalan led the project, based on a screenplay that he wrote for 20th Century Fox.
M.Night hasn’t had the best of his former box office glory (”The Sixth Sense” and “Signs“) with The Village’s okay results and The Lady in the Water’s dismal results but this latest thriller, being the first to venture into R-rated territory, is hoping to regain some of his box office powers. It should be noted that it’s going up against The Incredible Hulk though. Can his film take on the green superhero and still be successful?
While the plot details are still mostly unknown, the story is described as a paranoid thriller about a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity.
The Happening will hit theaters June 13, 2008.

Another Trailer Shows Us What’s ‘Happening’!? (Working!)

That title’s a lie really, any glimpse we get of M. Night Shyamalan’s latest creepy catastrophe film still leaves us in the dark, but that’s not to say we’re still going to search for anything we can find.
The US trailer for ‘The Happening’ has turned up that focuses a bit more on the character played by Mark Wahlberg - could this be another star turn for the Oscar nominated fella? Hope so.
Following his panic over whatever is happening in the world, there are still people falling down dead and jumping off buildings, with a few more shocking sights thrown in for good measure (look out for Mr and Mrs. Gas Mask sitting down for a bit of telly).
