Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way are moving ahead on a Twilight Zone movie, hiring Sherlock Holmes writer Anthony Peckham to pen a script based on the iconic TV series.

According to reports last month, Let Me In filmmaker Matt Reeves is set to direct a new big-screen adaptation of the classic Rod Sterling TV shows.

Warner Bros. Pick Matt Reeves to Helm New Twilight Zone Film

There were a number of shortlisted directors (Christopher Nolan, Michael Bay, Alfonso Cuaron and Rupert Wyatt) for a new film version of The Twilight Zone, but finally Warner Bros. has been decided to hire the one not mentioned.

Matt Reeves, the guy best known for making Cloverfield and Let Me In has been chosen by the studio to shoot the journey into the land of the strange and unusual. Negotiations will reportedly begin next week.

Jason Keller to Write Matt Reeves’ Vampire Thriller The Passage

The PassageJustin Cronin‘s 2009 novel The Passage is getting an adaptation, and as you already know Fox 2000 studio is behind the project that will be directed by Let Me In helmer Matt Reeves.

But, today we’re here to share some interesting news about this adaptation, because we’ve just learned that screenwriter Jason Keller will be in charge for re-writing the whole thing!

But, don’t get confused. John Logan previously wrote the original draft of the script when Ridley Scott, who is now producing the project, was also considering it as a directing gig.

I guess that Keller is an interesting choice. After all, he’s the man behind the upcoming Machine Gun Preacher story, as well as behind Relativity’s (yet) untitled Snow White.

The Passage, on the other hand, is a little bit different story that takes place in the future, where a government attempt to cure cancer has turned people into vampires.

Matt Reeves to Adapt This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein

This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor FrankensteinHere’s something interesting. And yes, it has a lot to do with Frankenstein. Let Me In helmer, Matt Reeves will be in charge for the upcoming adaptation of Kenneth Oppel’s novel titled This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein. So, as you see, Reeves is one busy guy these days…

And he definitely likes this vampire stories. He’s already attached to a film based off the short story 8 O’Clock in the Morning as well as an adaptation of the vampire novel The Passage. And, of course, the above mentioned This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein.

We’re actually talking about a prequel to Mary Shelley’s classic horror tale, and accrodring to Deadline, Jacob Aaron Estes (The Details) is responsible for the script. Summit Entertainment will be behind the project and as usual, here’s a little description of the whole thing:

“Victor and Konrad are the twin brothers Frankenstein. They are nearly inseparable. Growing up, their lives are filled with imaginary adventures…until the day their adventures turn all too real.

Time for another vampire movie! Not something completely new, because this one has been in development since 2007.

It’s an adaptation of a bestselling novel written by Justin Cronin, and titled The Passage, that will be directed by Let Me In helmer Matt Reeves.

John Logan was at one moment in charge for the script (he’s now busy with the new James Bond flick, so he’s no longer on board), but we learned that Reeves will oversee a rewrite by a yet-to-be-determined screenwriter.

Matt Reeves to Write/Direct Thriller Based on Sci-fi Short Story 8 O’Clock in the Morning

Matt-Reeves, They Live Remake

Director Matt Reeves has signed with Universal to direct the film based on Ray Nelson‘s 1963 short story 8 O’Clock In The Morning, which was the foundation for John Carpenter‘s 1988 film They Live, one of the best straight to tape B movies of all time.

The story focuses on a nameless drifter who turns up in LA, and thanks to the discovery of a pair of magic sunglasses, he discovers that advertisements are sending out rather unsubtle subliminal messages, and perhaps more worryingly, that aliens are walking among us in disguise.

Kodi Smit-McPhee stars as Owen in Let Me In

The first TV spot for Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) horror film Let Me In has been released.

In case you’re not familiar with either this new film or the original Swedish version (Let the Right One In), Let Me In concerns Chloe Moretz (Abby), a mysterious 12-year old girl, who moves next door to Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee, The Road). Owen is a social outcast who is viciously bullied at school and in his loneliness, forms a profound bond with his new neighbor. Owen can’t help noticing that Abby is like no one he has ever met before. As a string of grisly murders occupy the town, Owen has to confront the reality that this seemingly innocent girl is really a savage vampire.

Fantastic Fest is pleased to announce the opening night film will be the U.S. premiere of the highly anticipated Let Me In, directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and starring Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass), Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road), Elias Koteas (Shutter Island) and Richard Jenkins (The Visitor). The red carpet event will take place on Thursday, September 23 at The Paramount Theatre with director Matt Reeves and cast members in attendance.

 

Let Me In is a terrifying tale about an alienated 12-year old (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins).
