Twelve Years a Slave is coming, and, just in case you’re still not familiar with this project, now is the perfect time to get a few details about the whole thing.
Of course we’re talking about Steve McQueen’s adaptation of Solomon Northup’s autobiography of the same name, which already has Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender on board.

Relativity Media have provided FilmoFilia with the official poster for the upcoming Steven Soderbergh‘s action thriller Haywire, starring Channing Tatum (GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra), Ewan McGregor (The Ghost Writer), Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Antonio Banderas (The Legend of Zoro), Bill Paxton (“Big Love”), Michael Douglas (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Michael Angarano (Almost Famous); and introduces mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Gina Carano as Mallory Kane, in a demanding lead role that has her performing her own high-adrenaline stunts.

There’s a new poster for the highly controversial Steve McQueen film Shame, which stars Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan.
Brandon (Fassbender) is a 30-something man living in New York who is unable to manage his sex life. After his wayward younger sister (Mulligan) moves into his apartment, Brandon’s world spirals out of control.

I admit. I wasn’t so impressed with this year’s Venice Film Festival. Don’t know why, but every single time I actually tried to pay some attention on the movies that were in contention, I immediately cheated them all with Yorgos Lanthimos‘ Alps. Or even worse, with Roman Polanski‘s Carnage.

Believe it, or not, but Aleksander Sokurov‘s Faust won the Golden Lion for Best Film at the beating high-profile contenders such as above mentioned Carnage and Steve McQueen’s Shame.

From director Steve McQueen, Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us. You see, that’s the usual mistake we have with the official descriptions.
I mean, do I really want to see an examination of the nature of need? No, I don’t! Boriiiiiiing! But I’ll give them a try. First of all, cast is no bad, second – I’m interested to see McQueen portrait of sexual addiction. Just give me the “s” word, and I’m all ears!

I hope you know the tough guy playing the part of Barry The Baptist in Guy Ritchie’s gangster comedy Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Well, this is the same Lenny McLean aka The Guv’nor, on which life story the U.K. production house Revolver Entertainment is developing a script.
The Guv’nor, was a famed East End of London unlicensed boxer, bouncer, former criminal, bodyguard … and actor. The Guv’nor McLean was often referred to as ‘the hardest man in Britain.’

Fox Releases Prometheus Official Synopsis
I’m sure you’ll be glad to hear something fresh about the upcoming Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus, project that we already wrote so much about (but, not enough, I guess).
Few days ago we wrote about the possible synopsis part, but it looks that guys from Fox Studio weren’t satisfied with that description so they’ve decided to give as an official synopsis part!
And it goes like this…
Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe.
Writer Damon Lindelof Explains Alien Connection to Prometheus
So, what do we know about the upcoming Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus? We know that it’s going to be a sci-fi action spectacle. That’s for sure.
We also know that the movie was originally developed as an Alien prequel. And, that some great cast is on board, because Logan Marshall-Green, Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Rafe Spall, Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie are all set to star in it.
But we hate the fact that the plot details are still a mystery and that, beside above mentioned things, we know absolutely nothing about this project!
So, thank God somebody finally revealed some interesting details about the whole thing! And that person is Damon Lindelof, man responsible for the Prometheus story, who appeared on the Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show and spoke at length about the genesis of Prometheus and its connection to the Alien universe.
