Winona Ryder

I would really like to see her more often in the movies. After The Dilemma and her short but powerful appearance in Black Swan, Winona Ryder will join the cast of the true serial killer tale, The Iceman.

This project comes from director Ariel Vromen and already stars Michael Shannon, Chris Evans, Ray Liotta and David Schwimmer.

Ryan Gosling

From time to time we get a chance to see something great from Hollywood. You know, no bullshit stories, just a mix of good actors, classic villains, great costumes and perfect make up.

That’s exactly why The New York Times Magazine’s Touch Of Evil, a video gallery of cinematic villainy, directed by Alex Prager deserves our full attention.

Some would say that it’s time for the final countdown but I will say it’s time to get a bit enthusiastic.

After all, we’re here to talk about the 27th Annual Independent Spirit Awards, not Oscar night! Still, I like nominations, they usually (and not always) show us what’s best in independent film at this moment, so what can I tell you guys, sit down and enjoy the full list of nominations for Spirit!

So, our favourite friend is now a killer? Hm, ok. David Schwimmer, guy probably best known as Ross Geller from Friends is now on board to star in the upcoming mob-centric indie The Iceman.

This project comes from director Ariel Vromen and already stars Michael Shannon, Ray Liotta, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Ryan O’Nan.

Good cast, but I’m still confused about the latest news. What the hell Schwimmer has to do with this role?

Mud Cast Members

What a coincidence – the duo’s most recent film, Take Shelter, hits theaters this Friday and, as was announced yesterday, they are working together for the third time.

The new project Mud, which lensing began yesterday in Arkansas is the evidence that almost symbiotic relationship between Michael Shannon and Jeff Nichols exists.

Mickey Rourke in 13

It goes like this. When you have a project that big companies are sabotaging, all movie blogs immediately start to create titles like – this great movie finally gets a release date, or – check out the new great trailer for a movie we’ve been waiting for so long

But then, when the whole thing actually sees the light of a day, we get titles like – what a terrible trailer, and – this is awful, or something like that. The same thing happened with Gela Babluani‘s 13. Why?

I have no idea! So, here’s a deal – I say all 50 Cent fans out there, let’s unite together and give a hard kick on their ass!

13

So, miracles are possible, or what? Apparently they are, because we’ve just learned that Gela Babluani’s 13 is finally picked up for distribution by Anchor Bay.

Yeah, as you see, it wasn’t enough that this Babluani’s directorial debut 13 Tzameti won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival as well as two awards at the 2005 Venice Film Festival. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right moment I guess…

So, let’s get this straight – 13 is the English-language remake of the 2005 French movie 13 Tzameti also directed by Babluani, the man who brought us the original version.
