Mike Judge’s Extract is a strange and almost unnecessarily restrained examination of a man under stress. In it, Jason Bateman plays Joel, and he’s under a great deal of pressure. His work situation is difficult. He’s the boss and though he works hard for them, his employees regard him as the enemy. His personal life is little better. His wife Suzie (Kristen Wiig) has become frigid. Debuted at Yahoo! Movies, the promo video for excellent new comedy “Extract” has seen a special appearance from writer/director Mike Judge’s sarcastic and heavy metal loving Beavis and Butthead.
After years away from the spotlight Beavis and Butthead have returned, and they’re reviewing movies. Well one movie anyway. Judge’s favorite creations talk about the story of “Extract” and about specific things that they like about it.
The film story centers on a flower extract factory owner (Jason Bateman) who’s dealing with workplace problems and a streak of bad luck, including his wife’s (Kristen Wigg) affair with a gigolo.

Ben Affleck Signs Onto John Wells’ The Company Men
Ben Affleck
John Wells will write, direct and produce the screenplay about a man who is laid off and must cope with the financial and personal consequences. Ben Affleck is in negotiations to star in the film according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The project would mark the feature directorial debut for Wells, the award-winning writer-producer of episodes of television series ER and The West Wing.
Affleck’s own career is far from in the doldrums since his directing debut on the child kidnapping drama Gone Baby Gone. He is also starring as an ambulance-chasing lawyer in Extract, the new film from Mike Judge, the director of cult comedy Office Space and the King of the Hill TV show.
He will also appear in the comedy He’s Just Not That Into You and the Hollywood big screen adaptation of BBC political drama State of Play.
The Company Men initially had been set up at Warners, where Wells’ shingle has a deal, but it is in turnaround there; it has not yet been set up elsewhere.
No production date has been set.
