Keven Zegers, Christopher Egan and Anthony Mackie are currently testing to star alongside Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible 4!
Ok, the movie won’t be called Mission: Impossible, but we have no new title for now.
At this moment we have no idea if the three are competing for the same role, but since the project is in the early development, there are already some rumors that Ethan Hunt aka Tom Cruise’s character would mentor a younger agent, but, as we said, nothing is official yet.
According to The Wrap “Anthony Mackie, Kevin Zegers and Chris Egan are all being eyed for roles in the highly-anticipated sequel, individuals familiar with the casting process have told Deal Central.
Simon Pegg in Mission: Impossible 4
Simon Pegg is in talks to reprise his role for Paramount’s Mission: Impossible 4, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
We already know that Tom Cruise will be back for his role as secret agent Ethan Hunt and now it looks that Star Trek star Pegg will be back as geeky scientist Benji Dunn as well.
So, let the work on this project begin! Only this time, with some changes…
The film will be directed by Brad Bird, man who responsible for projects like The Incredibles, and the award-winning Ratatouille.
Brad Bird Will Direct Mission Impossible 4
Mission Impossible 4 (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) is coming! But, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see Ethan Hunt’s adventures, because it looks like May 27, 2011 really is mission impossible.
Paramount has now officially announced that it’s being pushed back to December 16, 2011. Wait, December? The Invention of Hugo Cabret, Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D and The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn month?!
Well, at least we’ll have a chance to watch some interesting competition!
Tom Cruise Signs On For Mission Impossible 4
Tom Cruise has been officially confirmed for the Mission: Impossible 4 movie. According to Deadline Hollywood, the deal is locked in. The report also confirmed previous info that J.J. Abrams, “Mission Impossible 3″ director, will not be directing this fourth installment, but he’s producing the project…
Paramount Chairman and CEO Brad Grey said that
“Tom and J.J. are great talents and we are excited to be working with them to re-launch this legendary franchise.”
Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are writing the script (link), based on a story idea from Cruise and Abrams.
The movie reunites Cruise and Paramount, which cut the actor loose from a long-term development deal in 2006.
Mission: Impossible IV Gets Writers
“Mission: Impossible 4” is definitely moving forward, Paramount Pictures and producers Tom Cruise and JJ. Abrams have set Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec to write the screenplay.
Josh and Andre have previously worked four seasons with Abrams as the executive producers of ABC’s series “Alias” and they will script “M:I 4” based on a story Abrams wrote with them.

Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams have agreed to co-produce “Mission: Impossible 4″ the sequel, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, which is set for a 2011 release.
“Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing,” Abrams said earlier. “I am incredibly honored that Tom has invited me back as a producer.”
The only problem with the production of “Mission: Impossible 4″ is negotiating the schedules of Cruise and Abrams.

Earlier this year, Cruise revealed that he would reprise his role of Ethan Hunt in the film.
