“Bangkok Dangerous”

Today, we have first look at a brand new R-rated clip from “Bangkok Dangerous.”

Directed by brothers Oxide Pang Chun and Danny Pang, the films picks up the story of a loner assassin who goes to Bangkok, Thailand, to do some assignment and find himself falls in love with a local girl. Joe (Nicolas Cage), a remorseless hitman, is in Bangkok to execute four enemies of a ruthless crime boss named Surat. He hires Kong (Shahkrit Yamnarm), a street punk and pickpocket, to run errands for him with the intention of covering his tracks by killing him at the end of the assignment. Strangely, Joe, the ultimate lone wolf, instead finds himself mentoring the young man while simultaneously being drawn into a tentative romance with a local shop girl. As he falls further under the sway of Bangkok’s intoxicating beauty, Joe begins to question his isolated existence and let down his guard …just as Surat decides it’s time to clean house.

“Bangkok Dangerous” is set to arrive in theaters on September 5, 2008.

‘Wicker Man’ Re-Re-Made!

Posted by Allan Ford 7 February, 2008 (0) Comment

Wicker ManHell in a handbag, can they just not leave that film alone! With all fairness, details that are emerging about this latest version aren’t all that bad at first read, though the damage that the Nicolas Cage version has done still bites deep.

So what’s being brought to the latest crack at Pagan pandemonium, crazy islanders and sacrifice by fire then?

First up, the original director Robin Hardy is both writing and directing which is kind of promising, and the great Christopher Lee is onboard which never harms. New to proceedings is Joan Collins who replaces Vanessa Redgrave in the part of Lady Delia Morrison.

Here’s the revised and modified plot…
“On a trip to Scotland to both perform at an arts festival and spread the word of Christ to the “heathens” of Glasgow, Beth is invited to visit a borderland estate and castle on a secluded island belonging to a Scottish Laird — but once there, she soon learns that her charming invitation to be crowned the “Queen Of The May” is part of a complex, horrific pagan rite, designed to test her Faith and ultimately destroy her.”

Letting slip some of his intentions, Robin Hardy said…”They thought they’d broken the mould after we made the original Wicker Man, but they were wrong…another film with beautiful songs, sassy sex, a few good laughs and horror upon horrors ahead.”

Hmmm! The crazy musical moments in the original were for me the most bewildering part of the enigma that is/was ‘The Wicker Man’. I really will be fascinated to see where he takes this one.

‘Bangkok Dangerous’ New International Movie Trailer & Movie Poster

Posted by Allan Ford 2 February, 2008 (0) Comment

‘Bangkok Dangerous’ movie posterToday, we have the international trailer and movie poster for the upcoming Nicolas Cage flick, entitled “Bangkok Dangerous.” Unfortunately, it is in Spanish, but you can still check out all the action as Cage continues sporting his ridiculous “Next” haircut.

The film also goes by the name “Time to Kill,” and is about a hitman (Nicolas Cage) in Bangkok, who while pulling off a series of jobs falls for a local woman and bonds with his errand boy.

This is the second American film directed by the Pang brothers, whose “The Messengers” was release earlier this year. “Bangkok Dangerous” is actually a remake of the brothers’ own 1999 film by the same name. At this point, the remake does not carry a release date.

Nicolas Cage To Quit Acting

Posted by Allan Ford 29 January, 2008 (1) Comment

Nicolas CageNicolas Cage is ready to quit acting. The ‘National Treasure: Book of Secrets’ star has grown “tired” with the moviemaking industry and is no longer excited about being an actor.

He said: “I’m not interested in showing my face or making statements. I enjoy acting when it works. Some movie stars look like they are having a ball, but I’m tired of it. It has made me reclusive. That is an increasingly gnawing feeling in my body.”

“When I first started I loved it. One of my frustrations is I have no control. I haven’t worked in a while and it will be eight months before I start my next picture. I know for the first time which direction I’m going in and what changes I want to make.”

The Oscar-winning actor also revealed he fears his fans are sick of watching his movies now he is in his 40s. Cage, who lives in an English castle with wife Alice Kim and two-year-old son Kal-el, added to Britain’s Radio Times magazine: “For some reason I p**s off the audience. People who like one type of film don’t like to see me in another.”

“Things I did and said early on still haunt me. I started acting at 17, but I’m 44 now and have grown up. I wonder if I am still interesting to watch if I didn’t drink or raise hell, but it’s obnoxious to keep drinking.”
