Oscar 2010 Winners!
Oscar winners 2010 list is here.
We already wrote about possible winners and competition between- James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow, so we can say that we’re not at all surprised that this was Kathryn Bigelow‘s night.
The Hurt Locker won 6 Oscars, including honour for Best Movie and Best Director.
So, Bigelow became the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Director.
On the other hand, the movie that still sits on the top of box office, James Cameron‘s Avatar definetely had a bad luck. The movie won only 3 golden statues in technical categories – Art Direction, Cinematography and Visual Effects.
James Cameron vs. Kathryn Bigelow
He could go home with another one. She, on the other hand, could become the first woman to take home that prize. Yes, you’re all guessing what we’re wondering about! One the Oscar day we’re talking about this big competition of former life couple, Kathryn Bigelow and well-known director James Cameron.
We must say that it’s Cameron who provoked us all to write about this, since you all had a chance to hear his question that referred to her possible win:
“Did Katherine Bigelow win the Oscar for Best Director because she was the best, or because she was a woman?

Oscar 2010 Presenters
“You’ve Never Seen Oscar Like This” – they assure us. Well, ok, we guess that show’s going to be on a high-level. Why wouldn’t?
We already know that this year’s hosts, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, will take the stage at the Kodak Theatre on March 7, 2010, and we have no problem with that decision.
Although, we must say, we’re a little bit confused with all those news that refer to the eventual presenters…
Oscar Against Comedy?
What happened with all good old films that used to make us cry out of laughter? Really, guys, I want to see some movies that will make me laugh.
Ok, maybe we became too occupied with every day routine, maybe we still think too much about our jobs, money, family problems? Problems with our neighbors? No, no, I’m not hinting on any movie… (yet)!
While watching this year’s Oscar nominations, one can’t help but wonder – why isn’t there category for best Comedy? Go out and tell some director – “man, that was a good job, here’s the Oscar!” Is it possible that somewhere out there does not exist some great, funny masterpiece that will make our stomach hurt?
Or is there some problem in Academy policy that just thinks that is not worth our attention? And yes, we do understand that we’re living in some crazy time, where money rules everything, so we’re not trying to act like some saints with mission to return stumbled world on a right direction. We just want to laugh! From time to time! Are we asking too much?! Or, does that cost too much?
