Death Race Prequel in the Works
A prequel toPaul W.S. Anderson‘s “Death Race” remake is in the works at Impact Pictures (Anderson and Jeremy Bolt’s production outfit).
In the first film Jason Statham played a wrongly imprisoned racing champion who competes in several televised brutal prison races to win his freedom.
Tony Giglio (Timber Falls, interview) has been hired to write a script, based on a story by Anderson. Giglio may also direct. The script is said to delve into the past of the driver known as Frankenstein.
New Featurette for “Death Race”
A new behind-the-scenes featurette for “Death Race“ has popped up online. The film stars Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Tyrese Gibson, Ian McShane, Natalie Martinez and Jason Clarke. Director Paul W.S. Anderson led the production for Universal Pictures, based on a screenplay that he co-wrote with J.F. Lawton.
