Check out the poster for “Creation,” a biopic movie telling the life of Charles Darwin.

Creation

A psychological, heart-wrenching love story starring Paul Bettany (A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World) as Charles Darwin, the film is based on “Annie’s Box,” a biography penned by Darwin’s great-great-grandson Randal Keynes using personal letters and diaries of the Darwin family. We take a unique and inside look at Darwin, his family and his love for his deeply religious wife, played by Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind, Requiem for a Dream), as, torn between faith and science, Darwin struggles to finish his legendary book “On the Origin of Species,” which goes on to become the foundation for evolutionary biology.

UPDATE 8/12/2009/ Watch a red band trailer and Hi – Res images from the “Legion

The “Legion” panel was part of Sony’s presence at Comic-Con ‘09 and the film brought out stars Paul Bettany, Doug Jones, Tyrese Gibson, and Adrianne Palicki, along with writer/director Scott Stewart.

Legion

So, the first official poster for the upcoming horror/action movie featuring Paul Bettany as the Archangel Michael holding a knife and a machinegun – armed and angelic, has been unveiled. Stewart had a great way to describe the movie: “Angels with machineguns.” Take a look at the poster below.

After a terrifying biblical apocalypse descends upon the world, the Archangel Michael is the only one standing between mankind and an apocalypse, after God loses faith in humanity. Michael, along with some humans in a diner in the middle of nowhere, has to protect the messiah growing inside one of the diner’s waitress.

Scott Stewart, a former special effects man, brought along an extended trailer for the movie, the first ever footage of “Legion” anywhere.

…We see Paul Bettany’s Archangel Michael in silhouette, his wings furled behind his back. Cut to Michael in the rain, screaming as he cuts off his wings with a knife. Blood pools in the rain and a runed silver collar falls to the floor. As he leaves he’s confronted by a pair of cops who try to stop him. Bad ass angel that he is, he takes them out with barrels blazing. Afterwards one of the officers is still standing, his eyes turn black and his teeth sharpen. It’s another angel who threatens Michael, “you can’t protect the child.” it says.

…Inside the diner, a heavily pregnant waitress serves coffee while Dennis Quaid stands by the counter. As the waitress pours for an elderly lady she’s asked when her baby’s due. Soon, she says. “That’s too bad, your fucking baby’s going to burn!”

Synopsis: In the frontier of the American west, a veil of evil threatens to engulf humanity. Servants of the fallen archangel Temozarela are paving the way for their dark lord’s resurrection.

Ivan Isaacs was once a priest. Devoted to his faith he would have given up anything for it. Then the establishment he believed in turned on him, sending him headlong into Hell. Now, he’s back. With the priesthood now corrupt with demons, the undead and black prayers, he has returned with the help of the demon Belial, a voice in the darkness who offered Ivan a chance at vengeance, in exchange for his soul. With his six-shooter, a bouie knife at his side and the white collar of his former life adorning his neck he is a lost pale rider in a barren wild west where past and future collide.
