Story centers on an ordinary couple finding themselves in an unthinkable situation and having to make desperate choices that will test the limits of love and alter their lives forever.

The lead roles in the original movie were played by Diane Kruger and Vincent Lindon as happy married couple. But their life radically changes one morning, when the police comes to arrest Lisa (Kruger) on murder charges. She’s sentenced to 20 years of prison. Convinced of his wife’s innocence, Julien (Lindon) decides to act…

It’s Lionsgate’s first collaboration with Haggis since “Crash,” for which Haggis received the 2005 Academy Awards for best motion picture and best original screenplay along with a nomination for best director.

Principal photography on “The Next Three Days” is expected to begin in August.

According to AICN, the upcoming James Bond movie, “Quantum of Solace,” will premier its trailer in front of Will Smith’s “Hancock” on July 2nd. It is assumed that the trailer will then be released online.

In other Bond news, Paul Haggis, who wrote “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace,” has revealed to IGN that he is interested in helming a Bond movie himself. Haggis has recently directed the anti-Iraq War drama, “In The Valley of Elah” and the Oscar-winner “Crash” before that.

“Look what Martin [Campbell] did with Casino Royale, he shot for 120 days, it’s so difficult to do something like that and I’m not sure that I’m up for that Herculean feat. When I’ve made four or five films I’d like to do a Bond film, or something like that.”

Haggis of course is weary about overworking on film sets as he famously had a heart attack during the filming of ‘Crash’, and had to persuade a doctor that he was well enough to resume shooting the film.

For now he is happy just penning the adventures of 007:

“I love writing Bond, it’s fun. I get to be part of a team, who are re-exploring the classic character, reinventing something that I loved when I was young.”

Paul Haggis Has ‘No Idea’ What ‘Quantum Of Solace’ Means

Posted by Fiona 26 February, 2008 (0) Comment

qos1.jpgDaniel Craig insisted that the oddly-phrased moniker “ties into the plot,” but the Oscar-winning writer of the script, Paul Haggis admitted when was asked for the meaning on the Oscar red carpet Sunday:

‘I have no idea…It’s not my title’.

According to moviesblog.mtv.com Haggis was less-than-enthusiastic about the three-word title that has been attached to his script. When was asked what he thought of it, he just sighed and said: “No comment.”

Haggis said:

I’m not supposed to say anything [about the plot]. I finished it before the strike, and now they’re off shooting it. I haven’t actually heard from them, other than the fact that it’s going very, very well. And Marc’s doing a great job. That’s what I hear.
