Everybody’s Fine To Feature New Paul McCartney Song
Paul McCartney has written an original song, “(I Want To) Come Home,” for the upcoming Miramax’s new holiday dramedy “Everybody’s Fine,” starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell.
After attending an early screening of the film, McCartney felt a deep connection to the material and began writing the song that very night.
“Everybody’s Fine,” written and directed by Kirk Jones (Waking Ned Devine), is the story of a widower (De Niro) who embarks on an impromptu road trip to reconnect with each of his grown children only to discover that their lives are far from picture perfect.
Collaborating with composer Dario Marianelli on the orchestrations, McCartney has crafted an intimate song that compliments the themes of the film and serves as a final grace note to the moving story.
Paul McCartney in “Shrek 4″
According to thesun.co.uk, Sir Paul McCartney is in talks to write the soundtrack for “Shrek 4” and may also have a small speaking role in the movie.
The former Beatle will join Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas in the fourth movie in the Dreamworks saga, which is due for a 2010 release.
A source said:
“Paul has been discussing the possibility of providing the soundtrack to the next ‘Shrek’ film. His hit “Live and Let Die” was sung in the last movie at Shrek’s father-in-law’s funeral and was one of the funniest moments.
“If he says yes, Paul will compose a batch of original songs for the film and he could even voice a character.”
Paul said:
“I’m a huge fan of ‘Shrek’ as my little girl, who is three, loves it. I can do a really good impression of him – I put on my best Scottish accent!”

“The women in John’s early life truly shaped who he became and the strengths and weaknesses of their relationships are central to this film.”
Casting is currently underway, with filming set to take place on location in Lennon’s hometown in Liverpool.
Sales and finance house HanWay Films is handling worldwide sales and will be trying to get sellers to tune in at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. American studios including Miramax and Focus are said to be interested in acquiring the rights to the movie.
McCartney seeks Winehouse for ‘Quantum of Solace’
Sir Paul McCartney wants Amy Winehouse to sing the theme tune for the new James Bond film, ‘Quantum of Solace‘.
The Beatles legend – who sang the title track for hit 1973 Bond film ‘Live and Let Die’ thinks troubled singer Amy has the perfect voice for a theme song, and offered some advice to her.
“I think Amy Winehouse would be really good, and I think she would do a really good job. My advice to her would be not to try and rhyme Solace with anything – that’s too hard.”, he said.
Paul also said despite being responsible for one of the most popular Bond tunes of all time, he wouldn’t want to have the responsibility again.
“I definitely wouldn’t do it again. I have been trying to think of something to rhyme with Solace and all I can come up with is Wallace! I don’t envy whoever is going to do the song!”, he added.
Other singers who have recorded a 007 theme tune include, Dame Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner, Sir Tom Jones, Carly Simon and Lulu.
Does Sir Paul Have a New ‘Pulp’ Love?
About a month after photos of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and a New York City trucking-company heiress hit the tabloids, new reports are linking Sir Paul to someone a bit more recognizable.
The musical mogul was photographed over the past week with actress Rosanna Arquette, and the two were seen holding hands, the New York Post reports. The Post goes on to report that Britain’s News of the World caught the two in England while McCartney’s supposed new girlfriend, Nancy Shevell, was recovering from an illness in New York.
Shevell, a 47-year-old board member of the Metropolitan Transit Authority in New York City, said “I’m sorry, I don’t want to talk about it,” when a Post reporter inquired about the situation.
Arquette has had several prominent roles throughout her career, including co-starring in ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’ and was in the infamous adernaline shot scene in ‘Pulp Fiction.’
The Post reports that McCartney and Arquette went on two dates on consecutive nights. McCartney’s spokesman, Paul Freundlich, said that they refuse “to comment on Paul’s personal life or business affairs.”
