Death Race Prequel in the Works

A prequel toPaul W.S. Anderson’s “Death Race” remake is in the works at Impact Pictures (Anderson and Jeremy Bolt’s production outfit).

In the first film Jason Statham played a wrongly imprisoned racing champion who competes in several televised brutal prison races to win his freedom.

Tony Giglio (Timber Falls, interview) has been hired to write a script, based on a story by Anderson. Giglio may also direct. The script is said to delve into the past of the driver known as Frankenstein.
