Monsters Inc. 2 In 2012
One of the most loved Disney Pixar movies, Monsters Inc., is officially getting a sequel, with Disney Studios chairman Rich Ross announcing that the second installment will hit screens on November 16, 2012.
Is that a good news, or what? Ok, we knew this was coming, because we’re all in love with these little creatures, and looks that now is the right time for a sequel to the 2001 movie which made over $500 million worldwide!
Just to see how serious guys from Disney are, Monsters Inc. 2 would be their second major release for this year with Disney also planning to reveal their animated adventure Brave into theaters on June 15, 2012.
Yeah, yeah, it’s the same one, previously titled The Bear And The Bow, the new female-driven animated movie starring Reese Witherspoon as an impulsive princess who aims to shed her royal ties and become the world’s first, great female archer.

We already wrote about possible winners and competition between- James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow, so we can say that we’re not at all surprised that this was Kathryn Bigelow‘s night.
The Hurt Locker won 6 Oscars, including honour for Best Movie and Best Director.
So, Bigelow became the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Director.
On the other hand, the movie that still sits on the top of box office, James Cameron‘s Avatar definetely had a bad luck. The movie won only 3 golden statues in technical categories – Art Direction, Cinematography and Visual Effects.

17 New Images From Pixar’s UP
Disney/Pixar has released 17 new images for their upcoming animated “Up” film.
“Up”, from the Disney Pixar studios, tells the story of 78 year-old Carl Fredricksen who sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America by tying thousands of balloons to his home. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn’t alone on his journey, since Russell, a young wilderness explorer, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.
Cannes Film Festival 2009 – Animated Up Opens Festival

“Up,” directed by Pete Docter, who also directed the animated hit “Monsters, Inc.” and developed the story and characters for “Toy Story,” will be shown at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony on May 13, 2009.
The first time an animated film has opened the world’s biggest cinema competition, organizers said on Thursday.
Several animated films, from the Israeli drama “Waltz with Bashir,” shown at last year’s competition to “Shrek” in 2001 or the 1947 classic “Dumbo” have featured in the official selection but so far none has ever opened the festival.

New Pixar’s “Up” Poster and Clip
Yahoo! Movies has debuted the new poster for the upcoming Pixar film, “Up,” and a clip from the film that was shown at Sony’s CES Keynote last week has been leaked online.
The 3-D animated flick follows the crazy adventures of 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen, who sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America by tying thousands of balloons to his home. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn’t alone on his journey, since Russell, a young wilderness explorer, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.
The film is directed by Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc.) and co-directed and written by Bob Peterson (Finding Nemo). The voices are provided by Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, John Ratzenberger and Jordan Nagai.
