First Green Lantern Movie Set Photos
The first on-set photos of Ryan Reynolds at work on the first day of the Green Lantern shoot in New Orleans have gone online at DCUmoviepage and Comic Book Movie.
In the pictures, Reynolds was seen filming his part at a bar called Old Point Bar which was renamed Broome’s Bar in honor of Green Lantern creator John Broome.
Green Latern was created in 1940 by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell. Hal Jordan (Reynolds) introduced in 1959, a second-generation test pilot, is an ordinary man who was given the power ring and battery (lantern) by a dying alien named Abin Sur. When Abin Sur’s spaceship crashed on Earth, the alien used his ring to seek out an individual to take his place as Green Lantern: someone who was “utterly honest and born without fear.”
Cruise and Diaz “Knight and Day” Trailer
Yesterday we showed you the poster for upcoming action-comedy “Knight and Day,” and now the trailer is online.
The film, directed by James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Walk The Line, Identity), follows a mismatched couple – Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise – as they travel the world, engaging in hijinks and various misadventures.
Also starring in the movie is Maggie Grace, Peter Sarsgaard, Marc Blucas, Paul Dano, and Viola Davis.

Take a look at the first five minutes of “Elegy,” directed by Isabel Coixet, based on Pulitzer Prize-winner Philip Roth’s short novel “The Dying Animal” starring Academy Award-winner Ben Kingsley and Oscar-nominee Penelope Cruz, with extraordinary supporting performances from Dennis Hopper, Patricia Clarkson and Peter Sarsgaard.
In the movie, cultural critic David Kepesh (Kingsley) finds his life, which he indicates is a state of “emancipated manhood,” thrown into tragic disarray by Consuela Castillo (Cruz), a well-mannered
student who awakens a sense of sexual possessiveness in her teacher.
”Elegy” – New Trailer
Isabel Coixet’s ”Elegy” will be seen at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF).
Edinburgh’s 62nd, takes place at the earlier dates of June 18 to 29. This year for the first time it moves forward from its traditional August.
