The 22-year-old star told a reporter that she and Daniel Craig had been filming scenes in a honeymoon suite for the film.

The surprised journalist asked: ‘Honeymoon suite?’, prompting Arterton to reply: ‘I think I’ve said too much’.

Interview with Daniel Craig

IGN Movies was at the Quantum of Solace set last week. Here’s what Bond himself had to say about the ‘Quantum of Solace’.

Who was the first person to suggest the title?

Daniel Craig: It’s been going around for a while, we’ve been discussing it quite a while. We could have found a nippy title – we had plenty of suggestions that would look good on the poster. But we made a lot of effort last time around to take the film to a new place, and we want to continue to do that. So this title is meant to confuse a little. It’s meant to make you wonder, and that’s what we want – we want people thinking as they come into the film. When we first came up with the title I wasn’t sure, but I’ve been re-reading the Fleming books, which I do when we start shooting because it passes the time. Fleming always has a very emotional line to his books, and that’s where we kind of left the last movie. It doesn’t mean that this movie is going to be some character-driven kitchen sink drama – we’re making a Bond movie – and ‘Quantum of Solace’ ties in with a very strong plot point, which I’m not going to give away at this point..

First Movie Stills from ‘Quantum of Solace’ & Synopsis

By Fiona | Jan 25, 2008 | Movie News (0) Comment

The first ’James Bond: Quantum Of Solace’ images have been released, including character shots of Daniel Craig, Gemma Arterton, Mathieu Amalric, Giancarlo Giannini, Olga Kurylenko, Judi Dench and Jeffrey Wright.

Columbia Pictures even released an official synopsis: ’Quantum Of Solace’ continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (Craig) in ’Casino Royale’.

Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (Dench) interrogate Mr White (Jesper Christensen) who reveals the organization which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (Kurylenko), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (Amalric), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organization.

Craig Defended the Title ’Quantum of Solace’

By Fiona | Jan 25, 2008 | Movie News (0) Comment

The new James Bond film has been named and is reportedly action-packed, but entertainment journalists are questioning the choice of title, asking whether it is in fact the ’worst Bond name ever’.

“At the end of the last movie his heart’s been broken and he doesn’t have that quantum of solace, he doesn’t have that … closure on what happened in his life and he needs to find out,” Craig said.

“What is great about it is it also applies to something very important in the plot,” he said during a break from filming.

Daniel Craig Talks ‘Quantum of Solace’

By Fiona | Jan 24, 2008 | Movie News (0) Comment

Daniel Craig has spoken at the press conference to promote the 22nd Bond film Quantum of Solace. When quizzed about the ’bewildering’ title, he said: ’We could have gone for a snappier title but that’s not part of the deal…It ties into the plot, it’s not some random title.’

He says that it all connects to Bond’s search for closure on his relationship with Vesper. That could indicate that the meaning of Quantum of Solace is ‘a degree of comfort’.

Craig said that this film will be ’more of a classical Bond movie. There’s a touch of Ken Adam (the Bond production designer) and ’60s spy movie’.

Maybe this is easing in to a version of the Bond style we know, but with ’Casino Royale’’s more realistic edge. He also added that Bond will be ’misbehaving more this time’ and that we won’t see anything like the torture scene from ’Casino Royale’, because ’Bond’s deaing it out more this time.’

Producer Michael G Wilson also expanded on the continued absence of Moneypenny and Q. He said that in the previous films they’d had to find a moment for each of the characters, which wasn’t necessarily organic. He said they may come back in the future, but only if the story demands it.

Co-Producer Barbara Broccoli said that there was a definite possibility of Craig appearing in more Bond movies, but that they were ’taking it one at a time.’

‘Quantum of Solace’, new Bond film title is confirmed.

Bond fans have spotted that internet domain names for “Quantum Of Solace” have been recently registered by Sony Pictures.

It’s not a bad, certainly better than Risico, but I think they could come up with something better than ‘Quantum of Solace’.

The title is taken from one of a collection of short stories published by 007 creator Ian Fleming in 1960.

The new film, which will see Daniel Craig reprise his role as the iconic British agent, will also feature Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko.

The next outing is the 22nd in the Bond franchise, and is partly being shot at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
