Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz and Paul Rust have all joined Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming World War II flick “Inglorious Bastards“. They’ll co-star along side Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Mike Myers, Michael Fassbender, B.J. Novak and Samm Levine.

Diane Kruger (”Troy”, “National Treasure”) will handle the role of German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark. Her character will figure into the plot to kill the Nazis. Actress Nastassja Kinski was first rumored to be up for the role.

The flick is set during World War II where a band of U.S. soldiers, who are facing death by firing squad for their misdeeds, are given a chance to redeem themselves by heading into the perilous no-man’s lands of Nazi-occupied France on a suicide mission for the Allies.

Variety reports the film is set to begin production on Oct. 13 with shooting taking place in Germany.

Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz

Simon Pegg has announced that he will not, as previously reported, be appearing in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Bastards.”

Much to our mutual disappointment, I won’t be appearing in QT’s forthcoming Inglorious Bastards due to insurmountable scheduling difficulties. We really tried to make it work but in the end, it just was not possible without severe ramifications elsewhere.

But there is some good news. Superbad director Greg Mottola has signed on to direct Simon’s next film, “Paul.” Written and starring Pegg and Nick Frost, the story is a road movie about two British comic book geeks that get into an adventure across America.

Hell Ride

Thanks to Worst Previews, we now have a restricted clip from the upcoming “Hell Ride” movie starring Larry Bishop, Vinnie Jones, Dennis Hopper and Michael Madsen.

Writer/director Larry Bishop takes on a third role as Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a group of badass bikers who are out to avenge the murder of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers, a rival gang whose actions live up to their hellish moniker. Along with his cohorts, the Gent (deviously portrayed by Michael Madsen) and the mysterious Comanche (Eric Balfour), Pistolero aims to take down the Deuce and Billy Wings, menacing leaders of the 666ers, but a mutiny looms on the horizon when his commitment to profit is questioned by a few of his fellow Victors. An even larger story unravels when previously unknown information about Comanche resurrects ghosts from Pistolero’s past.

“Hell Ride” is produced by Quentin Tarantino and already premiered at the Sundance film festival and is currently scheduled to hit theaters on August 8th.

Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in “Inglorious Bastards”

Posted by Fiona 16 July, 2008 (0) Comment

Quentin TarantinoAs we previously reported, Brad Pitt might be one of the lead roles in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming World War Two film “Inglorious Bastards.”

Tarantino wants Pitt to play the role of Aldo Raine in the World War II drama. He met Brad Pitt in France yesterday to discuss the role. Pitt, who read “Inglorious Bastards,” seems a strong logistical fit for the project.

Tarantino will also meet Leonardo DiCaprio later this week to offer him to play Hans Landa, another lead role in “Inglorious Bastards.”

Several studios said the script is vintage Tarantino and they’re eager to be in business with him at a reasonable price. DiCaprio and Pitt would be appearing in a Tarantino-helmed project for the first time, though Pitt previously spoke Tarantino-scripted dialogue in a small but memorable stoner turn in the Tony Scott-directed “True Romance.” - Variety

Set in World War 2, the story revolves around a group of soldiers on their way to be executed, only they get the chance for a reprieval.

“Inglorious Bastards” has been in the works for over 5 years now, but during the Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino promised to return next year with his new film.

”The next movie I’m doing is my World War II movie. I just finished up the first draft and if all goes well, I will be here, in Cannes, in 2009 with “Inglorious Bastards”, Tarantino said.

“The premise is the basic jumping off point from Enzo’s original - that you had a bunch of hardened criminals on a military transport during World War II - that got ambushed by the Nazis. Everyone but the criminals gets killed and the prisoners decide to make their way to neutral Switzerland - and must fight the Nazis and the Allies to get there”, Tarantino said about his new movie.

“Inglorious Bastards” will shoot in Germany  and also in France.

The shooting begins in the autumn.

Brad Pitt to star in Tarantino’s “Inglorious Bastards”?

Posted by Fiona 10 July, 2008 (0) Comment

Brad PittBrad Pitt might be one of the lead roles in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming World War Two film “Inglorious Bastards.”

The Oscar-winning writer-director has confirmed he will start production in October on his long-gestating World War II epic, “Inglorious Bastards.” And while there’s been no official announcement, Pitt’s name has surfaced for one of the leads.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Tarantino plans to do the bulk of the shooting in Europe:

Since the production will film in Europe and is looking toward an accelerated production schedule so that it can be finished in time to submit to May’s Festival de Cannes, the Weinsteins are looking to join forces with a major studio to come aboard to co-finance in exchange for foreign rights.

That would seem to fit Pitt’s schedule, having set up a homebase in France awaiting Angelina Jolie’s birth.

Quentin Tarantino’s next movie - “Inglorious Bastards”

Posted by Fiona 20 June, 2008 (0) Comment

Quentin TarantinoSet in World War 2, the story revolves around a group of soldiers on their way to be executed, only they get the chance for a reprieval.

Inglorious Bastards” has been in the works for over 5 years now, but during the Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino promised to return next year with his new film.

”The next movie I’m doing is my World War II movie. I just finished up the first draft and if all goes well, I will be here, in Cannes, in 2009 with “Inglorious Bastards”, Tarantino said.

“As Quentin has been writing this, he’s done so much research into the actual events of World War II as well as the cinema of World War 2, that the story kept growing and growing. It became too big for one film, so he’s turned it into 2. That’s right, “Inglorious Bastards” will be two movies.” says Enzo Castellari, the director of the original “Inglorious Bastards”, according to AICN.

Almost every big Hollywood name has been rumored to star in the “Inglorious Bastards”, but Tarantino writes the script without any actor in mind.
