Inglourious Basterds’ Premiere At Cannes Film Festival 2009

During the last year’s Cannes Film Festival, Quentin Tarantino promised to return this year at Cannes with his new film.
”The next movie I’m doing is my World War II movie. I just finished up the first draft and if all goes well, I will be here, in Cannes, in 2009 with “Inglorious Bastards”, Tarantino said then.

Quentin Tarantino: Full “Kill Bill” Movie is Still Coming
Quentin Tarantino has confirmed that he is working on a new version of revenge drama Kill Bill – “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair.”
Before the film was broken up into two volumes in 2003 due to pressure from Miramax after the studio felt it wouldn’t be able to attract enough of an audience to recoup the film’s cost, it was originally intended to be one long movie with an intermission.

Quentin Tarantino‘s World War II will hit movie theaters on August 21 2009, The Weinstein Company and Universal Pictures behind the highly-anticipated “Inglourious Basterds” announced on Wednesday. The August 21 release date of “Inglourious Basterds” is for the U.S. and Canada, and dates remain undetermined for its international release, said The Weinstein Company and Universal Pictures.
Tarantino often takes a long time between projects. His last movie was a 2007 combined feature called “Grindhouse” made with director Robert Rodriguez, but he has not single-handedly directed a film since the 2004 “Kill Bill: Vol. 2.”
