Rachel Weisz In “Agora” First Photos
First images from the set of Alejandro Amenbar’s “Agora” are online. Fotogramas.es has a pair of images of Rachel Weisz as Hypatia, an Alexandrian astrologer-philosopher struggling to save the collected wisdom of the ancient world.
“Agora” is set in the fourth century A.D. in Roman Egypt is an adventure drama movie. It also stars Max Minghella as Hypatia’s slave, Davus.
The film also stars Oscar Isaac, Ashraf Barhom, Homayoun Ershadi, Jordan Kiziuk, Michael Lonsdale, Rupert Evans and Richard Durden.

Amenabar’s ancient Egyptian epic marks his second English-language film after “The Others” (Nicole Kidman). He previously directed “The Sea Inside,” which won the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2005.
“Agora” is currently in post-production and slated to come out on December 18th 2009.

Summit Entertainment has revealed an updated trailer from “The Brothers Bloom” online.

Rachel Weisz In Ancient Epic ‘Agora’
Rachel Weisz, the former “Mummy” actress has been tapped to star in an ancient Egyptian epic entitled “Agora“.
According to Variety, Rachel is set to play Hypatia, an Alexandrian astrologer-philosopher struggling to save the collected wisdom of the ancient world.
“Agora” is set in the fourth century A.D. in Roman Egypt is an adventure drama movie. It picks up the destruction of the library of Alexandria.
The film will also see Oscar Isaac, Ashraf Barhom, Max Minghella and Homayoun Ershadi as the film’s cast.
Filming will be started on Monday, March 17, in Malta and is going to last for about 15 weeks.
