Observe and Report Review, Trailers, Images

Observe and Report

Observe and Report” may be the smartest dumb comedy since “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.” That 2004 comedy classic used its stoner comedy trappings to tell a sharp, incisive tale about modern race relations and ethnic identity. (We’ll ignore the terrible sequel.)

“Observe and Report” begins as simply another story about an underachieving, but big-dreaming little guy who gets a chance to redeem himself and win the girl of his dreams. By the time it is over, we realize that we haven’t just watched a comic variation on “Taxi Driver,” but also a satire of American ambition and nationalistic superiority. In an era where hopes and dreams are being squashed left and right by forces not entirely of our own making, “Observe and Report” comes close to asking us how we began to feel entitled to our uniquely American optimism in the first place…read more [Film Threat]

“Observe and Report” is filled with enough F-bombs to take out the entire midsection of the country; it has its own special brand of unrestrained head-bashing, stomach-kicking, nightstick-beating brutality that echoes rogue guerrillas anywhere. And there is a long, long, long (did I say long?) full-frontal run by a middle-aged, pot-bellied flasher clad only in a flapping trench coat and a very sturdy pair of sneakers (now where is 3-D when you really need it?)…read more [Los Angeles Times]

New Observe and Report Posters

Posted by Allan Ford 17 March, 2009 (0) Comment

Warner Bros has released three brand new posters for Jody Hill’s latest Seth Rogen-starrer comedy “Observe and Report.”

At the Forest Ridge Mall, head of security Ronnie Barnhardt patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist, combating skateboarders, shoplifters and the occasional unruly customer while dreaming of the day when he can swap his flashlight for a badge and a gun. His delusions of grandeur are put to the test when the mall is struck by a flasher.

Driven to protect and serve the mall and its patrons, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents on a grand scale, hoping his solution of this crime will earn a coveted spot at the police academy and the heart of his elusive dream girl Brandi, the hot make-up counter clerk who won’t give him the time of day. But his single-minded pursuit of glory launches a turf war with the equally competitive Detective Harrison of the Conway Police, and Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher, but getting him before the real cops do.

The film also stars Anna Faris, Michael Pena, Aziz Ansari, Patton Oswalt, Jesse Plemons and Ray Liotta.

“Observe and Report” is scheduled to hit theaters on April 10th.

‘Bee Movie’ Review

Posted by Fiona 26 December, 2007 (0) Comment

Jerry Seinfeld, Renee Zellweger, Matthew Broderick, Patrick Warburton, John Goodman, Chris Rock, Kathy Bates, Barry Levinson, Larry King, Ray Liotta, Oprah Winfrey…

beemovie.jpg

There’s been a lot of buzz about Jerry Seinfeld’s new film over the past couple of years – being a CGI project, it’s taken that long to make it – and though the wait may have stung a few, the result definitely won’t.

By now, we’d all be aware that Jerry Seinfeld – whether it’s as a stand-up comedian or as the brainchild of one of TV land’s best sitcoms of all time – never enters anything half-prepped, and the work that he’s put into his first movie shows right up there on the screen – it’s a beautiful, dazzling family pic that doesn’t skip a beat. In short, this is no – excuse the pun – B-movie.

Written by and featuring Seinfeld as a very personable bee, ’Bee Movie’ is uncompromising fun and well-crafted filmmaking, and unlike a lot of the mediocre animated/family films in recent months it’s a satisfying experience for any age.
