‘The Red Baron’ International Trailer

The international movie trailer for ‘The Red Baron‘ has hit the interwebs.

Baron Manfred von Richthofen (Schweighöfer) is the most feared and celebrated pilot of the German air force in World War I. To him and his companions, air combats are events of sporty nature, technical challenge and honorable acting, ignoring the terrible extent of war. But after falling in love with the nurse Käte (Headey), Manfred realizes he is only used for propaganda means. Caught between his disgust for the war, and the responsibility for his fighter wing, von Richthofen sets out to fly again.

Starring Matthias Schweighoefer, Til Schweiger, Tino Mewes, Jan Josef Liefers, Lena Headey, and directed by Nikolai Muellerschoen.

It opens April 10, 2008 in Germany.

Aerial Combat Trailer For ‘The Red Baron’

Trailer for the up and coming German production ‘The Red Baron‘ does away with all those tedious misty eyed exchanges of glances and cuts straight to the combat and hot dang, does it look good or what!

To quickly re-cap, The Red Baron was World War One fighter ace and utter scourge of the skies Manfred Von Richthofen. This bi-plane flying bad ass accounted for an incredible 80 Allied aircraft in during his reign over the Western front before succumbing to Canadian pilot Arthur ‘Roy’ Brown.

Now this clip really does get the juices flowing for me with it’s breathtaking realism and attention to historical detail and takes me back to all those childhood viewings of ‘The Battle Of Britain’ where combat would be subsequently re-enacted via a handful of Dinky planes in my mothers back garden!

No UK release date I can find so far but you can bet I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled.
