Recently, we added the first official trailer for Moneyball. Today we have 23 new hi-res photos from Columbia Pictures baseball drama.
Based on Michael Lewis’ bestseller, Moneyball tracks the changing fortunes of Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), manager of the Oakland A’s baseball team. With the club’s finances at an all-time low, Beane struggles to assemble any sort of winning roster, since he can’t afford the best players. But then he gets a little help from young office type Peter Brand (Jonah Hill), who introduces him to a new method for picking possible recruits – a computer analysis program running a system called Sabermetrics, which uses empirical evidence instead of the conventional wisdom.

Dutch actor Yorick van Wageningen has joined David Fincher’s upcoming adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s novel that we already wrote about.
By now, we all know that the movie has quite impressive cast: Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, Stellen Skarsgard, Robin Wright Penn, Max von Sydow, Christopher Plummer and Joely Richardson.
Now, Yorick van Wagingen, best known for his role in The Chronicles of Riddick, has been cast in the small but seminal role of “Nils Bjurman, the court appointed guardian over Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) when Holger Palmgren suffers a heart attack.”
According to the latest reports, Holger Palmgern will be played by Swedish actor Bengt C.W. Carlsson, who you probably remember from the title Songs from the Second Floor.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo casting continues, and the latest name on the quite interesting cast list for the upcoming David Fincher‘s adaptation is Max von Sydow!
Von Sydow is in talks to play the affluent Henrik Vanger, man responsible for enlisting journalist Mikael Blomkvist to investigate the disappearance of his niece decades earlier in a story that goes like this:
“Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family.
He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist and the tattooed, ruthless computer hacker Lisbeth Salander to investigate.

Rooney Mara has been cast in the lead role of the film version of late author Stieg Larsson‘s best-selling book The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Yes, this means that we’re quite done with all that reports about possible Lisbeth! That was boring, right?
So, you probably remember that Ellen Page, Mia Wasikowska, Sarah Snook, Sophie Lowe, Lea Seydoux and Katie Jarvis were all in the running for the leading role, Lisbeth Salander, together with (now official movie star) Rooney Mara.
Mara, who previously appeared in the comedy Youth in Revolt, this year’s Nightmare on Elm Street remake and is also in the upcoming Fincher’s The Social Network, will portray “brilliant, dangerous and volatile computer hacker Lisbeth Salander,” according to Sony Pictures spokesman Steve Elzer, in a story that goes like this:

Stellan Skarsgard, a Swedish born actor, best known for his roles in Angeles & Demons and Pirates of the Caribbean is in talks to play Martin Vanger in David Fincher’s adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Quite interesting choice for Skarsgard who will star as Martin Vanger, President of the family’s multi-generational company and a key suspect in the disappearance of young Harriet in a story that goes like this:
