A little photo update today guys! We’re all curious about the upcoming The Gangster Squad project, so I guess you’re going to enjoy this new image from the Ruben Fleischer‘s directed period crime drama.
As you’ll see, our favourite mobsters are this time together in front of the City Hall, and yes – they look pretty classy, but as Josh Brolin previously stated – don’t get fooled, they were pretty brutal back then as well!

Check out a new photo from Ruben Fleischer’s 1940s crime thriller The Gangster Squad (previously titled The Gangster Squad), featuring a shot of John O’Mara (Josh Brolin)and Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn). Also stars Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Anthony Mackie, Nick Nolte, Michael Pena, Robert Patrick and Giovanni Ribisi.
The film is based on a series of LA Times articles that chronicle a team of LAPD cops who fight to keep the East Coast Mafia types out of post-war LA.
Sean Penn and Josh Brolin in GANGSTER SQUAD First Look
I’m always excited about those first look images especially when we have such a huge project on the road. As you probably know, Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad is set to open on October 19th, 2012 so now is the perfect moment for all of us to check out the first look at Sean Penn and Josh Brolin in the whole thing and to hear some new details about this 1940s crime thriller straight from a director!
What I definitely like about this image is the fact that everything looks so…old? Not in a bad way of course! We haven’t seen Sean Penn until now, and with all due respect, I was little bored with all Ryan Gosling images that we had a chance to see.
Ambyr Childers As Female Lead in Gangster Squad
Well, well, well, what do we have here, lovely Ambyr Childers set to star in the upcoming Ruben Fleischer‘s Gangester Squad movie? I’m interested! Not because she’s one hell of an actress, but because I want to see how she’ll handle such a huge project which already stars Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin.
So, according to the latest reports, the young actress has landed a key role in this period drama for Warner Bros.
Unfortunately, at this moment still no detailed information about her role, but when it’s key role – then it’s key role, I guess.
As I already mentioned the rest of the cast includes Sean Penn as LA gangster Mickey Cohen, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling and Michael Pena as members of The Gangster Squad, while Anthony Mackie is set to play former LAPD lieutenant Rocky Washington.
Giovanni Ribisi, Holt McCallany, Frank Grillo, Robert Patrick and Nick Nolte are also on board.
Gangster Squad is based on a series of 2008 articles in the Los Angeles Times by Paul Lieberman and examines an LAPD unit that’s set up in the 1940s to fend off the growing influence of the East Coast Mafia in the city.

We finally have the first set photos from Ruben Fleischer’s upcoming Gangster Squad crime drama!
And I have two questions. First, what do you think about Ryan Gosling‘s new 1940′s style? And, second, does anyone know how tall is Josh Brolin? Or, how short is he? LOL, nothing better than some crazy suit combination in the early afternoon. Or morning? See, I’m confused already.
So, Gangster Squad is currently in production in L.A. And it looks they’re having some fun out there. Well, actually, Gosling always looks like that, even when he’s forced to wear red-gray combination, and as for Brolin, he looks like he desperately needs a donut.

Here is a new restricted almost 2-minute long clip from 30 Minutes or Less. The action comedy film is directed by Ruben Fleischer and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari, Nick Swardson and Michael Pena.
Emma Stone Eyed for Female Lead in Gangster Squad
Emma Stone, one of Hollywood’s most sought-out young thesps, who is starring in three summer pics this year, is in talks for another high profile role. Stone is thought to be offered a part of bittersweet beauty Jean in Gangster Squad, a 1940s crime drama that is set to feature her Crazy, Stupid, Love co-star Ryan Gosling and her Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer.
Two New 30 Minutes or Less Clips and Featurette
Columbia Pictures has debuted two brand new clips and behind-the-scenes featurette from the upcoming adventure-comedy 30 Minutes or Less, which will be unleashed in theaters everywhere on August 12.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by Michael Diliberti, 30 Minutes or Less stars Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansaridson, Danny McBride, Fred Ward, Nick Swar, Michael Peña, Dilshad Vadsaria and Johnny Yong Bosch.
