Anthony Mackie In World War Z and Gangster Squad
Anthony Mackie is very busy guy these days. You don’t trust us? Well, guess what, The Hurt Locker star, now occupied with that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter project, is attached to star in two high profile projects as well!
First one is an upcoming Marc Forster‘s adaptation of Max Brooks’ zombie novel titled World War Z, and the other one is Ruben Fleischer’s 1940’s crime drama The Gangster Squad. Not bad at all, right?
Ok, one thing is for sure. Both of these projects are definitely something worth our attention. Now, with Mackie on board – even more.
As you probably remember, Gangster Squad already has Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling on board, although it’s still unknown what role Mackie would play.
On the other hand, World War Z, has Brad Pitt and previously reported Mireille Enos set to star.
30 Minutes or Less Trailer
The trailer for the upcoming action comedy “30 Minutes or Less” has debuted online and can be watched using the player below!
In the action-comedy “30 Minutes or Less,” Nick (Jesse Eisenberg) is a small town pizza delivery guy whose mundane life collides with the big plans of two wanna-be criminal masterminds (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson). The volatile duo kidnaps Nick and forces him to rob a bank. With mere hours to pull off the impossible task, Nick enlists the help of his ex-best friend, (Chet Ansari). As the clock ticks, the two must deal with the police, hired assassins, flamethrowers, and their own tumultuous relationship.
Josh Brolin, Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling Holding Offers for Gangster Squad
We already had a little chat about this project, but it’s always the right time for an update. Especially casting update, so let’s start! Ok, you already had a chance to hear these rumors, but today we’re here to confirm that Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin are (indeed) in “active negotiations” to star in Ruben Fleischer‘s movie titled The Gangster Squad!
So, at this moment we know that Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling are still in talks to play legendary gangster Mickey Cohen and a cop working to bring him to justice, respectively, while, according to the latest reports, “Josh Brolin has been offered a role of a cop who would work alongside Gosling in their fight against Cohen.”
New 30 Minutes or Less Photos
Sony has released new photos from the new comedy 30 Minutes or Less, which stars Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Aziz Ansari (Funny People), Danny McBride (Your Highness) and Nick Swardson (You Don’t Mess with the Zohan).

Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling Offered Roles in Gangster Squad
The Gangster Squad is an upcoming action movie set up at Warner Bros. and conceived as an ensemble piece for a group of top-level actors.
I’m sure you all remember our previous report about this project, so by now you know that Ruben Fleischer is set to direct the whole thing. Now, according to the latest reports, the studio is eyeing Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling for the leading roles.
The Gangster Squad is based on a series of 2008 articles in the Los Angeles Times by Paul Lieberman and examines an LAPD unit that’s set up in the 1940s to fend off the growing influence of the East Coast Mafia in the city. The police group becomes very powerful, the battles with the Mafia escalate, and mayhem and betrayals ensue.
Fleischer Wants to Do Zombieland 2 in 3D
Sony hasn’t yet announced the development of a Zombieland 2, but with a worldwide budget of over $84 million, it is likely only a matter of time before a sequel was brought up.
Moviehole has an interview with “Zombieland” director Ruben Fleischer, who revealed that not only is Sony interested in a sequel, but if they can “crack” the story for a sequel, it will probably be shot in 3D.
Not only Fleischer who is excited with the plan to make the sequel of the horror comedy, but also the original cast, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin, are willing to reprise their roles in the second “Zombieland” film.

Zombieland‘s not much of a horror movie. There are some really good scares in the first act, and it’s set in a world that’s been devastated by zombies (but not, I think, the undead. These zombies seem to be much more like the Rage-infected types from 28 Days Later and less like the ghouls of George A.
