I’m sure you all remember this project, and that’s exactly why we’re here today. We have a little update on the upcoming Gela Babluani’s 13, and I’m sure you’re going to love it.
After all, we have a great cast involved in this English-language remake of the 2005 French movie 13 Tzameti.
In case you forgot, Alexander Skarsgard, Sam Riley, Jason Statham, Curtis 50 Cent, Jackson, Ray Winstone and Mickey Rourke all star in 13, which opens in limited theaters on October 28.

New 13 Trailer Is NOT Terrible
It goes like this. When you have a project that big companies are sabotaging, all movie blogs immediately start to create titles like – this great movie finally gets a release date, or – check out the new great trailer for a movie we’ve been waiting for so long…
But then, when the whole thing actually sees the light of a day, we get titles like – what a terrible trailer, and – this is awful, or something like that. The same thing happened with Gela Babluani‘s 13. Why?
I have no idea! So, here’s a deal – I say all 50 Cent fans out there, let’s unite together and give a hard kick on their ass!
13 Finally Picked Up For Distribution
So, miracles are possible, or what? Apparently they are, because we’ve just learned that Gela Babluani’s 13 is finally picked up for distribution by Anchor Bay.
Yeah, as you see, it wasn’t enough that this Babluani’s directorial debut 13 Tzameti won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival as well as two awards at the 2005 Venice Film Festival. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right moment I guess…
So, let’s get this straight – 13 is the English-language remake of the 2005 French movie 13 Tzameti also directed by Babluani, the man who brought us the original version.

The first domestic poster for the remake of 13 Tzameti from writer and director Gela Babluani has arrived. The film stars Ray Winstone, Alexander Skarsgård, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Michael Shannon, Sam Riley, 50 Cent, David Zayas and Ben Gazzara.
“13″ centers on a naive young man who assumes a dead man’s identity and finds himself embroiled in an underground world of power, violence, and chance where men gamble behind closed doors on the lives of other men.

Below we have the first US trailer for the upcoming thriller entitled “13“.
The movie centers on Vince (Sam Riley), a young man, who has decided to follow instructions intended for someone else, without knowing where they will take him. When he reaches his destination, he falls into a degenerate, clandestine world of mental chaos behind closed doors in which men gamble on the lives of others men.
Amy Adams and Viggo Mortensen Join On The Road
Amy Adams and Viggo Mortensen have joined the cast of Walter Salles’ film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s On The Road.
The movie already includes some great cast: Sam Riley, Kirsten Dunst, Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund. Sounds very good, we must admit, especially when we have a plot like this:
“Fans of Kerouac get the whole beautiful, groovy deal with this new recording of the radically hip novel that many consider the heart of the Beat movement. Poetic, open and raw, Kerouac’s prose lays out a cross-country adventure as experienced by Sal Paradise, an autobiographical character.
Kristen Stewart On the Road
Kristen Stewart fans check this out! Brazilian director Walter Salles has cast Twilight Saga star along with Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund for the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac‘s 1957 seminal novel On the Road.
The movie will be centered on the story of a young man’s travel in the United States, and is scheduled to be released in 2011.
The movie is actually a largely autobiographical work that was based on the spontaneous road trips of Kerouac and his friends across mid-century America. We definitely expect more information about this project, but, at this moment, we know that Kristen Stewart will play Dean Moriarty’s incandescent on-and-off wife Marylou, while Sam Riley (best known from Control) will star as Kerouac’s alter ego Sal Paradise.
Garrett Hedlund (of the upcoming Tron Legacy) has been cast as Moriarty, the character based on the rebellious Cassady. Stewart looks very excited about this one since we had a chance to hear this kind of words from her:
“I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever. Not that this is going to help it, but maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super excited about it, too. I am about to play Marylou in On the Road.”
