Jamie Foxx Confirmed for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

By Fiona | Jun 23, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

Jamie FoxxA week ago we wrote about the possible involvement of Jamie Foxx in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino‘s project titled Django Unchained, when you learned that he’s the front-runner for the role of Django.

Today, we’re here to confirm that those rumors were true, and that Mr. Foxx will join the cast that, at this moment, includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson. Welcome on board Foxx!

So, as you already know, Django Unchained is the story that will follow: Django (Foxx), a freed slave, who, under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter (Waltz) becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself.

After assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, Django is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner.

Yes, that means Christoph Waltz is on board to star as a German bounty hunter, but he’s not the villain, because we have Leonardo DiCaprio set to play the villain, character named Calvin Candie, who operates a Mississippi plantation called Candyland where he pits male slaves against each other in brutal fights to the death when he isn’t busy sexually exploiting female slaves.

By Fiona | Jun 14, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

Jamie FoxxQuentin Tarantino‘s upcoming Django Unchained is definitely an interesting project, and we’re happy to hear that so many famous faces are attached to the whole thing.

Yes, that actually means we’re here for a little casting update, or, should we call it a rumor at this moment? Well, ok, you win, it’s a rumor, but it sounds great!

Apparently, now Jamie Foxx seems to be the front-runner for the role of Django!

Just in case you forgot, here’s a little reminder. The movie will follow:

“Django, a freed slave, who, under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself, and after assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner.”

And when we mentioned those famous faces above, we actually thought that the movie already has an awesome cast.

Leonardo DiCaprio in Talks For Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

By Fiona | Jun 8, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

Leonardo DiCaprioOk, this project is definitely familiar to you, so I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear the latest update about Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming Django Unchained.

According to the latest reports, Leonardo DiCaprio is in some serious negotiations to join the cast that will probably include previously reported Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson.

Yeah, probably, because we still have nothing official on this one. As you see, we’re not even writing about the first major contender for the role of Django – Will Smith, simply because – well, it looks that he will not be the part of this project after all.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what guys from Deadline say, though they’re writing about possible replacements – Idris Elba, Chris Tucker and Jamie Foxx.

Apparently one of them will have an opportunity to star as Django, “a slave who is liberated and taught the tricks of the trade by a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter (Waltz).”

Samuel L. Jackson and Geena Davis in The Long Kiss Goodnight

The Long Kiss Goodnight will have a sequel. I can’t believe it. I loved that one! And I thought this is some bad joke (Von Trier’s or something like that), but then an interview came out, and now I’m here to report that a sequel to the 1996 thriller is actually coming after all!

So, what are you waiting for? Check out the rest of this report for more details!

Director of the original movie, Renny Harlin had a little chat with guys from DenOfGeek, where he revealed:

“I am developing a sequel for that. I’m right now looking for a writer who would have the same incredible sensibilities in terms of character, humour and action.”
