Carey Mulligan IS NOT The Girl With Dragon Tattoo
Ok, we had a little chat about Carey Mulligan playing (almost for sure) Lisbeth Salander, punk heroine of Stieg Larsson‘s bestselling trilogy.
Today, we had a chance to hear that Scott Rudin, producer of David Fincher‘s forthcoming The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie says it’s absolutely not true. Well, that’s just not nice! Decide it already!
Let us remind you, everything started when we heard that Mulligan “has won the approval of David Fincher, the director, and also the family of the late Stieg Larsson, the Swedish author who created Salander.”
We also had a chance to hear something like this: “the choice follows weeks of casting rumors, with producers sifting through nearly 5,000 potential candidates”.
On the other hand, Mulligan has already talked several times about being interested, and there’s no doubt that she could knock it out of the park.
Chris Rock To Remake Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low!?
Missing remakes!? We neither, but Mike Nichols is set to direct a remake of Akira Kurosawa‘s High and Low for Miramax Films.
But ok, we should write about this without prejudice, because, as you will have a chance to see by reading the rest of the report, some interesting names are involved around the whole thing…
So, we know that this remake movie is based on the 1963 detective thriller classic from director Akira Kurosawa. Kurosawa’s movie, starring Toshiro Mifune was based on the Ed McBain novel King’s Ransom about a businessman who is ruined when he honorably pays ransom to kidnappers who mistakenly nabbed his driver’s son.
Interesting story was about to reincarnate once again, and at the time there was a kind of perfect plan.
It was planned to be written by David Mamet and produced by Scott Rudin. Martin Scorsese originally commissioned Mamet to write the screenplay back in 1999 and it took two years for Rudin to pull the rights together.
This was the part we said was interesting at the beginning. Ok, well, take a deep breath now, guys!
Yesterday, we heard a rumor, that goes like this: Chris Rock revealed his next project to Black Voices! So, what is Rock doing in this report, you might wonder? Well…(you already took that breath!?) he is writing the screenplay remake adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 detective thriller High and Low! There you go!
New Greenberg Poster
The new poster for the upcoming comedy/drama Greenberg has appeared online.
Roger Greenberg (Ben Stiller) is at a crossroads in his life. Out of a job and none too interested in finding one, he agrees to housesit for his younger and more successful brother, thereby getting a free place to stay in Los Angeles. Once settled in, Greenberg sets out to reconnect with his old friend and former bandmate Ivan (Rhys Ifans). But times have changed, and old friends aren’t necessarily still best friends, so Greenberg finds himself spending more and more time instead with his brother’s personal assistant Florence (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring singer and herself something of a lost soul. As their relationship develops through a series of embarrassingly awkward romantic encounters, even someone as irascible as Greenberg might have at last found a reason to be happy.

Trailer For Norwegian Movie ‘Reprise’
Opening on May 16th is the debut of filmmaker Joachim Trier and his movie is called “Reprise.” While you probably haven’t heard of the film yet as it was made in Norway, the reason you might be interested is “Reprise” is currently good rated 100% on Internet web sites. Add to that, producer Scott Rudin added his name to the film to help the movie get noticed. That isn’t something he usually does.
