Drew Barrymore to Direct Heist Society
Well, it definitely looks like Drew Barrymore is quite serious about her future projects. Apparently, she’s now busy with another novel adaptation, Ally Carter‘s Heist Society for Warner Bros.
Barrymore is also attached to produce the project that is already being described as young adult thriller together with Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan.
So, as you see, enough reasons for us to start a little chat about the whole thing.
At this moment we know that screenwriter Shauna Cross, who previously worked with Barrymore on Whip It, is set to adapt Carter’s novel while Barrymore will also supervise the writing.
According to THR, Warner Bros. is aging the characters a notch into their early 20s.
Here’s a little description of the novel: “After a childhood spent assisting her father, one of the world’s most talented art thieves, Katarina Bishop tries to leave the family business behind when she forges her way into a New England boarding school.

According to the latest reports, guys from Lionsgate will adapt the pregnancy manual, titled What to Expect When You’re Expecting. And, now, let me ask you one thing – who do you expect to see in this adaptation? Cameron Diaz, maybe?
Well, exactly! Cameron Diaz is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of this project that will be directed by Nanny McPhee helmer Kirk Jones. Jones will direct from a script written by Heather Hach (Freaky Friday) and Shauna Cross (Whip It!).

Director Kirk Jones will be behind the lens for the rom-com adaptation of Heidi Murkoff’s how-to manual What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
Lionsgate has previously acquired from Phoenix Pictures worldwide rights to the screen adaptation of the bestselling must-have pregnancy book. Heather Hach wrote the first draft.

Drew Barrymore’s ”Whip it!” Cast
Zoe Bell, Kristen Wiig, Juliette Lewis and Marcia Gay Harden join Ellen Page and Drew Barrymore in Barrymore’s directorial debut, comedy/drama ”Whip it!” for Mandate Pictures.
Marcia Gay Harden plays an overbearing ex-beauty queen who would rather see her daughter, Bliss (Ellen Page), in pageants than skates. Drew Barrymore will play Page’s teammate.
Kristen Wiig (”Saturday Night Live”, ”Knocked Up”) plays Bliss’ rowdy mentor, Malice in Wonderland.
