‘Ugly Betty’ (America Ferrera) Star Becomes ‘Invisible’

America Ferrera has signed on to star in “An Invisible Sign of My Own,” based on the novel by Aimee Bender.”An Invisible Sign of My Own” will be Marilyn Agrelo‘s first project since directing the acclaimed documentary “Mad Hot Ballroom” and will be based on an adaptation by Michael Ellis and Pamela Falk.

Ferrera will play Mona, a young woman who retreated into the world of mathematics after her father became ill. Now teaching math to second graders, Mona meets a man who may be just as anti-social as she is. Emotional awakenings ensue.
