“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Gets The Green Light!
The fourth saga in the Twilight Series, “Breaking Dawn” is going back to it’s roots and will be filmed in Portland, Oregon. David Slade is directing “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse“, but it is unknown if he will also direct any of the Breaking Dawn films. In addition, a new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought on board for “Breaking Dawn.” Karen Rosenfelt, daughter of former MGM Chairman & CEO Frank Edward Rosenfelt, served as Producer on both “Twilight” and on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse“. She did not work on “New Moon“, but is producing “Breaking Dawn” through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.
There will likely be quite a bit of tweaking to the fourth novel in the series due to the explicit sex and birth scenes to avoid an R rating. Inside sources confirm that Breaking Dawn may be filmed and released in two parts – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I“, and “Part II“. Although this has not been confirmed officially by Summit, author Stephenie Meyer has stated,
“It would have to be made into multiple movies because it’s hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes”.

“New Moon” plot summary: At Bella’s 18th birthday party at the Cullens’ house, she gets a paper cut, and Jasper attempts to attack her. The Cullens decide it would be better for Bella’s safety if they left, so they get away from Forks, leaving Bella heartbroken. She finds solace in family friend Jacob Black, who incidentally is a werewolf. But before Edward left, he made Bella promise she wouldn’t do anything reckless or stupid but, as he’d already broken his promise to ‘be there for as long as she wanted him’, she decides to break her promise. She goes cliff-diving, which makes Edward think she has killed herself, although it was purely for recreational purposes. So Edward travels to Italy, to provoke the Volturi so they will kill him. Alice finds Bella, and they begin a race to the Italian city of Volterra to stop him.
“New Moon” Book Cover: Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart

However, a minor accident during the festivities results in Bella’s blood being shed, a sight that proves too intense for the Cullens, who decide to leave the town of Forks, Washington for Bella and Edward’s sake. Initially heartbroken, Bella finds a form of comfort in reckless living, as well as an even-closer friendship with Jacob Black. Danger in different forms awaits.
Robert Pattinson Confirmed Shooting Of Breaking Dawn
Robert Pattinson (who is currently in Cannes) has confirmed that there will be a fourth film in the vampire series. He said the movie would be based on Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling novel, “Breaking Dawn.”
He was currently in the final days of shooting the second film, “New Moon,” in Italy and would start third movie, “Eclipse,” in October. Pattinson said his role in “New Moon” had been beefed up compared to the book, in which Edward is simply “a voice in Bella’s head”.
“You’re playing a figment in Bella’s imagination so I was trying to do it in a 2D way. I hope it doesn’t translate onscreen as being boring,” said Pattinson, laughing.
In between Twilight films, Pattinson said he plans to star in “Remember Me,” a film about a man who spends six weeks working out whether he loves someone or not.
Because of his other movie commitments, there was no definitive start date for the fourth movie, Pattinson added.

New Moon Script Found in Trash
Casey Ray, a beauty salon owner from St. Louis found a copy of the “New Moon” script along with another script for a film entitled “Memoirs” in a waste paper bin, reports The AP.
And rather than leak the film’s plot to fans of the “Twilight” series, Ray has been praised by the film’s studio Summit Entertainment for her honesty after she came forward with the scripts.
It is still unclear how the two scripts could end up in the trash on the first place although it is reported that Anna Kendrick, who plays Jessica in the “Twilight” series, is filming a movie “Up in the Air” in St. Louis, and the two scripts were found outside the hotel where “Air” star George Clooney and other actors are staying. In Kendrick’s defense, her rep insisted that the actress would never leave the script laying around, nor would she dump them in the trash.
Details of New Moon, based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer, have been kept heavily under wraps to ensure that fans are still surprised by what aspects of the storyline have been included.
Set for November 20 U.S. release,“The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” will be directed by Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass) using the script penned by “Twilight” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, and Nikki Reed.
David Slade Will Direct Twilight Eclipse
Summit Entertainment announced today that David Slade has been hired to direct “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” the third installment of the series based on the best-selling teenage supernatural romance novels by Stephenie Meyer. The announcement was made by Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production. Slade’s credits include “Hard Candy” and “30 Days of Night.”
Melissa Rosenberg, who penned the adaptations of “Twilight” and its sequel, “New Moon,” will also script “Eclipse.”
Stephenie Meyer herself release a quote, saying:
I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing “Eclipse”. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that “Eclipse” will be carrying on with that tradition.
Erik Feig adds:
Stephenie Meyer’s ‘Eclipse’ is a muscular, rich, vivid book and we at Summit looked long and hard for a director who could do it justice. We believe we have found that talent in David Slade, a director who has been able to create complex, visually arresting worlds.
Twilight Fourth Novel “Breaking Dawn” To Break Down?
On Monday, it has been announced that “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth film based on Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” novels, has been given an early green light for production. Over the past two days, rumors have flown about whether a film based on the final book is already in some stage of pre-production and that work will begin on “Breaking Dawn” in the late spring of 2010.
But Summit Entertainment spokesman Paul Pflug declined to confirm or deny the report, saying only,
“Summit has no comment on that rumor at this time.”
If you ask the screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who is currently writing the script for the third movie, “Eclipse,” a fourth “Twilight” film is not a go – at least, not just yet:
“The most I’ve heard from Summit is ‘re-read it and start thinking about it.’”
Now sources say author Stephenie Meyer is wrestling with how the book can possibly be adapted for the target tween audience, considering its more mature subject matter. Meyer is worried about the fourth novel’s steamy sex scenes and a envelope-pushing birth scene, saying,
“As far as I know, Stephenie was still having meetings asking, ‘Can we really make this into a movie?’”
