Steve Carell’s Despicable Me Teaser Trailer
Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for their upcoming 3-D animated comedy “Despicable Me,” starring Steve Carell, Russell Brand, Danny McBride and Julie Andrews.
Plot Summary: In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universal’s new 3-D CGI feature, “Despicable Me.”
Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.
The world’s greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.
Steve Carell To Remake Peter Sellers’s “The Bobo”
Steve Carell is planning to remake Peter Sellers’s 1967 comedy “The Bobo” with himself in the lead role. He is reportedly in talks to resurrect the work of late comic Peter Sellers.
“The Bobo” starred Peter Sellers as matador Juan Bautista and Britt Ekland as his love interest.
Carell would like Eva Mendes to star opposite him in the new version of the comedy as Olimpia Segura.
“Carell is a huge Sellers fan, and this is one of his favourite movies. Seeing him in a matador outfit with a Spanish Castilian accent could be very funny.”
Steve Carell is Brigadier Gerard
Steve Carell is considering starring the upcoming comedy “Brigadier Gerard.” Media Rights Capitalis developing the film and is hoping for a spring 2009 production start.
“King Of The Hill” TV writers John Altshuler and David Krinsky (Blades of Glory) have based the script on short stories originally penned by Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Brigadier Gerard, who was the subject of a series of short stories published between December 1894 and September 1903, is to be the subject of a new film starring Steve Carell, who looks to be the perfect choice for the role. Conan Doyle’s creation is a French soldier fighting during the Napoleonic wars, who mistakenly believes he is the bravest soldier and greatest swordsman, horseman and lover in the whole of France.
Producers are currently seeking a director.
Carell plans to star in one or two films during his hiatus after shooting the fifth season of NBC sitcom The Office. Possible candidates are Gerard, Date Night and a possible Get Smart sequel.
