Thomas Sangster to Be Tapped as Tintin?
Thomas Sangster has been reported to be landing an important role in the feature film series to be directed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson.
The 17-year-old actor is going to be cast as the titular character in “Tintin” trilogy.
Though the aspiring actor’s agent refused to give direct comment on the speculations, a film executive working with Sangster revealed that it is more likely that he would be cast.
“Thomas seems to be the one,” said the executive. “He was just great, but I’m not certain if anything has been finalised yet.”
On related news to “Tintin”, it was rumored that James Cameron might be signed to direct the third film as Spielberg has been set to helm the first and Jackson the second.
Despite the fact that Andy Serkis, the actor who has been cast as Captain Haddock, has revealed the order of the first two films’ directors, speculations stating that Spielberg and Jackson may be collaborating for the films are still circulating.
Cannes Film Festival - Indiana Jones 4 on May 18
Much anticipated and long-awaited fourth installment of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg’s
‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull‘, will debut at the Cannes Film Festival then open in theatres world-wide a few days later.
‘The Da Vinci Code‘ used the same tactic, avoiding Internet spoilers and lots of scolding critics.
The Cannes splash on May 18 will be followed by a massive press conference with Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Harrison Ford and new co-stars Shia LaBeouf and Cate Blanchett.
That will be followed by the opening, May 22, which will likely be followed by some sort of box office records.
‘Da Vinci Code’ scooped up $758-million globally even as critics slammed the allegedly lifeless version of the best selling book.
Last year’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End‘ reached $153-million.
Can ‘Indiana Jones 4′ do either of the ‘Da Vinci Code’ or ‘Pirates’ numbers? We’ll see.

Steven Spielberg to Direct First ‘Tintin’, Peter Jackson Second
Speculations about the order of the directors for the “Tintin” film trilogy have partly been answered.
In an interview with Andy Serkis has revealed that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have been tapped to direct the first and second “Tintin” films.

Talking about him being reunited with Jackson for the project, the man behind the character of Gollum in “Lord of the Rings” series revealed,
“Steven Spielberg is directing the first one, and then Peter Jackson is doing the second.” Despite revealing the directors’ order for the first two films, Serkis didn’t say who might be directing the third film.
He further explained that the majority of the principal photography should start in September, but following the writers’ strike, the schedules were moved a bit.
The first of the “Tintin” trilogy is slated for 2009 release followed by “Tintin 2″ in 2010.

USA Today has debuted the new poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, coming to theaters on May 22. The upcoming fourth action-adventure stars Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, Karen Allen, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent. Steven Spielberg is once again behind the camera.
Fourth ‘Indiana Jones’ To Begin Adventure At Cannes
The fourth installment of the whip-cracking adventurer “Indiana Jones,” starring Harrison Ford, will debut at the Cannes film festival in May, Hollywood press reported Friday.With a headline asking “Parlez-vous francais, Indiana Jones?” industry bible Variety said “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” would open at Cannes on May 18, four days before hitting theaters worldwide.
The cast of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’s fourth Indiana Jones film includes Australian Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett and rising US star Shia LaBeouf.
Cannes film festival organizers and Paramount studios, which is distributing the movie, refused to comment on the report.

It was reported that some changes may be done to the upcoming George Lucas’ action film ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.’ Some of the scenes in ‘Indiana Jones 4′ probably will be reshot.

The film’s director Steven Spielberg is planning to reshoot some of the scenes in Pasadena, California. They are going to shoot something on Bradford Street.
Earlier today, it was reported that the officials at the Cannes Film Festival and the representative to Spielberg have been talking about premiering ‘Indiana Jones 4′ at the festival held on May 14 to 25 in France.

The much anticipated action film “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” may be making its premiere screening at the 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival. According to Fox News, the Steven Spielberg-directed movie for Paramount Pictures is more likely to make its official worldwide premiere at the upcoming French event that runs from May 14 to 25.The news site revealed that the representatives to the film’s helmer are currently in talks with the festival’s officials to put the iconic film on the Tuesday, May 20, or Wednesday, May 21 of the festival’s second week. It was further said that the film’s cast and crew, including Spielberg, Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, Karen Allen and possibly George Lucas will appear on the red carpet at at the Palais.
