Sucker Punch Review
Sucker Punch is a wild and wonderful epic action fantasy brimming with shoot-outs, special effects and a seriously sexy group of lead actresses in snug costumes fighting their way through a plethora of enemies.
It’s a stylish comic-book style romp that revels in energy and sexuality.
Some will dismiss it as “style over content” and focus on the sexiness of the leads, but they won’t be able to deny the visual drive of Sucker Punch.

This movie is career suicide. Zack Snyder is still one of the most visually arresting filmmakers out there, but no one in a million years is ever going to give him carte blanche again. The film is an embarrassment, a black eye on entertainment that will become the unwilling example of what happens when geeks are allowed to do whatever they want without supervision. It is a film I wish I had seen at home, if only so I could yell at the screen all the obscenities that sprung to mind as I endured minute after ridiculous minute. I’ve never walked out of a movie – but this one really tried my patience. I beat it, but I don’t feel that I in any way won…read more [Ain't It Cool]

Abbie Cornish Talks ‘The Girl’ & Working With Madonna
Abbie Cornish next picture will be a small indie film by David Riker, to be called simply The Girl, in which she replaced Emily Blunt, earlier this year.
Australian beauty’s career has taken rise to the top through Jane Campion’s breathtaking period romance Bright Star. After that film Cornish was lifted out for The Dark Fields next to rising A-lister Bradley Cooper and De Niro, and in Zack Snyder’s cyberpunk fantasia Sucker Punch. Behind the high-concept Limitless, Cornish seemingly finding herself in the mix for several upcoming hot projects The Great Gatsby, Prometheus as well as starring one in Madonna‘s W.E. alongside Oscar Isaac.
Screen Daily report that Cornish has signed on to the drama “The Girl,” directed by David Riker (La Ciudad) and will play a young Texan mother who starts smuggling immigrants across the border from Mexico. When things go wrong, she has to travel across Mexico with the titular eight year old orphan. 70 percent of dialogue is in Spanish so she has to be learning Spanish at lightning speed. The film’s currently in pre-production, and co-producers Goldcrest will be shopping it around at the American Film Market in November.
