Cavill Poses with Young Fan; Young Lana Lang Cast in Superman: MAN OF STEEL
In casting news, Man of Steel has added Jadin Gould as young Lana Lang, with rumours that Dylan Sprayberry has already been cast as the young Clark Kent in the Superman new film.
Due to Zack Snyder’s state that his version of Superman will be about the superhero’s origins and part of that includes teen years, 13-year-old Gould will seize the role of Kent’s first girlfriend from his childhood in Smallville.
Michael Shannon On His General Zod Role in Superman: Man of Steel
Now when we have Michael Shannon as General Zod on board, we can continue our chat about the upcoming Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot titled Man of Steel. Of course, we all expect to find out more details about Shannon’s involvement in this movie, so guess what! The actor was interviewed as the Emerging Master Honoree at the 2011 RiverRun International Film Festival.
“This ‘Superman’ thing is ridiculous. It just came out of nowhere. I was talking to my agent … she’s like, ‘How about ‘Superman’? I’m like, ‘What?’ The idea that I would ever be in ‘Superman’! I’m like, ‘Are you serious?’” said Shannon and continued:
The Fighter’s Amy Adams as Lois Lane for Superman Reboot
Amy Adams has been cast as the fourth official cast member to join the Superman reboot. Adams will step into the iconic role of Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane that Noel Neill, Margot Kidder, Teri Hatcher and Kate Bosworth have all taken place at various times in the past.
The Fighter actress is just right for the role of key love interest opposite British actor Henry Cavill (despite he’s nearly a decade younger), who was beforehand cast as Superman/Clark Kent. Diane Lane and Kevin Costner will play his adoptive parents. Michael Shannon is said to be circling the role of the villain General Zod at this stage.

Michael Shannon is being eyed for a baddie (for General Zod?) in Superman: Man of Steel. Edgar Ramirez is being considered for the villain role as well.
Of course, details are thin on the ground. Previously, Henry Cavill was set as the Man of Steel, with Kevin Costner and Diane Lane attached to play his adoptive parents names on Earth.
Shannon, was long been known as an outstanding character actor who has worked mostly in independent production, but has emerged in several mainstream movies too. As you know Shannon gained an Oscar award for his role in Revolutionary Road and has recently been gathering additional accolades for his work on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. He also took part in Jonah Hex last year.
Diane Lane as Martha Kent in Superman Reboot
Diane Lane has signed on to play Martha Kent in Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Superman movie. Lane will star alongside headliner Henry Cavill in the untitled Warner Bros. project.
Warner Bros. Pictures said on a recent Wednesday that the actress, officially on board the film as Martha “Ma” Kent, is set as “the only mother Clark Kent has ever known.” In addition, Snyder said in a statement:
This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination.”
Diane Kruger Denies Possible Superman Casting
Lovely Diane Kruger will not star in an upcoming Zack Snyder‘s Superman film opposite Henry Cavill.
Another report about this movie, I know, and still nothing official and we’re still playing hot and cold game but who cares!
Following a press conference for her latest film Unknown, Kruger was asked about the recent Superman rumors and simply stated: “No, it’s not true.”
By the way, she is the second actress to deny any involvement on the film.
Alice Eve, Diane Kruger or Rosamund Pike to Play Ursa in Zack Snyder’s Superman?
Few days ago, someone called me almost an imbecile when I wrote that Alice Eve, Diane Kruger and Rosamund Pike are contenders for a mysterious female role (that is not Lois Lane, by the way) in an upcoming Zack Snyder‘s Superman.
So, I would like to dedicate this report for my favourite reader – hey (wo)man, I have some exclusive information just for you!
Those ladies are actually up for the role of a Kryptonian villainess named Ursa.
According to LatinoReview “Lois Lane WILL be in the film. The character these lovely actresses have come out for is no other than a Kryptonion villainess who is going by the name of URSA.”
In her first appearance, Ursa was one of General Zod’s minions who attempted to conquer Krypton in 1978′s Superman: The Movie. Jor-El sentenced Ursa, Zod and Non to the Phantom Zone, and they escaped following a nuclear detonation in space.

Alice Eve, Diane Kruger and Rosamund Pike are on the short list to play the female lead in the upcoming Superman film, opposite Henry Cavill.
Well, well, well, what do we have here, is one of these lovely ladies an upcoming Lois Lane? NO!
We’re not here to talk about THAT character, we’re here for the role whose identity hasn’t been disclosed – but, it’s not Lois Lane.
So, Zack Snyder‘s upcoming reboot of Superman has quite interesting cast on board.
We previously learned that Henry Cavill will be our upcoming Man of Steel and now we have three beauties as the top choices for the female (still unknown) role. Not bad at all.
Henry Cavill Named New Superman
British actor Henry Cavill will star a Superman as well as Clark Kent for Zack Snyder‘s reboot of the Superman franchise, WB has announced.
The new iconic superhero, Cavill, is fairly unknown actor (for me at least). He was considered for the part of blockbuster roles of Batman, James Bond and even the previous version of Superman. The young performer is perhaps best known for playing the character of Charles Brandon in The Tudors.
Speaking of that, director Snyder (300, Sucker Punch) enthusiastically told reporters
In the Pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary [Pictures] and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.
