`National Treasure 2` #1 Movie This Weekend / Movie Box Office
The next eleven days – the last eleven days of 2007 – produce in movie theaters some of the best choices for you to actually sit back, relax, and ENJOY the show you’ll be paying record amounts of money to see.
Among the best: “Sweeney Todd,” “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “The Orphanage,” “Walk Hard,” “The Bucket List,” “The Water Horse,” “There Will Be Blood,” “Persepolis” and “The Honeydripper.” The one new movie that all will go to, yet should avoid, at least until its DVD release, “National Treasure 2,” may become the second highest December opening ever, after last week’s “I Am Legend.”
New movies to avoid, as much as you would sitting in The Demon Barber’s chair, “PS I Love You,” “The Great Debaters” and “Steep.” For something in between, especially if you’re in for a sci-fi scare, run to “AVP2″ and laugh while you scream, (but mostly laugh), at the inane screenplay. "Sweeney Todd", Detailed Trailer
Today, we have a very detailed trailer for the upcoming Johnny Depp musical “Sweeney Todd.” It sets up the story right from the beginning and introduces us to Benjamin Barker (Depp), who eventually becomes the murdering Todd.
The movie revolves around a wrongfully imprisoned barber (Depp) in Victorian England who sets out to seek revenge on the judge (Alan Rickman) who imprisoned him. It is scheduled to hit theaters next weekend (December 21st).
Depp and director Tim Burton have had an illustrious collaboration over the years. “Ed Wood,” “Edward Scissorhands,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Corpse Bride” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” are some of their films.

Johnny Depp at NY Premiere of “Sweeney Todd”
Johnny Depp was at the New York (Zeigfeld Theatre) premiere of his new movie “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” 
Based on the 19th century legend of Sweeney Todd and the hit Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Sweeney Todd a.k.a Benjamin Barker (Johnny Depp) returns to London after being sent away by Judge Turpin with the help of a sailor, Anthony Hope. He opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett’s (Helena Bonham Carter) Meat Pie Shop were she sells “the worst pies in London.” With the help of Mrs. Lovett, Todd tries to rid of all the people who have ever done him wrong and hopes to be reunited with his daughter, Joanna, who is now Judge Turpin’s ward.
