After a year, the post-baby hiatus is over: Deadline reports Natalie Portman has set up two back-to-back projects with the same director, none other than Terrence Malick, starting with Knight of Cups this summer and then Lawless this fall.
2011 The Internet Film Critics Society (IFCS) Awards Winners
The Internet Film Critic Society announced the winners of their 5th Annual Movie Awards, giving the top honor (Best Drama) to Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life. Malick also won the Best Director prize. Other awards went to Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (Best Comedy), Drive (Best Action Film), and Attack the Block (Best Horror or Science Fiction Film). George Clooney picked up the award for Best Actor for his performance in The Descendants and Rooney Mara won Best Actress for her role in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

So, here’s the thing guys. According to the latest reports this movie “concerns a philanderer (Affleck) who, feeling at loose ends, travels to Paris, where he enters a hot-and-heavy affair with a European woman (Olga Kurylenko).
Christian Bale In New Terrence Malick’s Mystery Film
I hate when it’s all so mysterious like this one, but what the hell, we have some great news.
Apparently Christian Bale will reteam with his The New World director Terrence Malick for the upcoming movie that Malick is planning to shoot next year.
And that’s not all, because we’ve also learned that this mysterious project will have two leads, one male and one female, so as you already guess, some interesting names are already rumored for the female part.
So check this out: Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Haley Bennet and Clemence Poesy are all in contention for that part!
This sounds great, indeed, although it would be nice to have more details about the whole thing. But, unfortunately, that’s still top secret.
Cannes 2011 Winners
One of the most anticipated and long-awaited movie, Terrence Malick‘s The Tree Of Life, premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival won the Palme d’Or!
Malick didn’t show up and instead Bill Pohlad and Dede Gardner (producers) accepted the prize, saying he was too shy to show.
According to THR, Pohlad explained that Malick was back home in Austin. “He’s very excited. He’s thrilled,” the producer said later, at the closing-night dinner. “He’s a good guy and just likes to be private; no insults to anybody. That’s his way.”
