BAFTA 2010 Winners
Looks like we are not the only one that got caught up in Oscar night fever. British had their own BAFTA fever!
The 63rd British Academy of Film and Television Arts, equivalent of our Academy Awards, hosted by Jonathan Ross, was held the 21st of February at the Royal Opera House. It was a special night for those who worked hard during the preceding year, and gave their best effort to justify British cinema confidence.
The Hurt Locker is the big winner with 6 wins. Maybe this could be the good indicator for our upcoming show?

Where will you be on March 7th? Are you guys ready for the 82nd Academy Awards? Filmofilia is right here to remind you that glamorous red carpet has never been closer! Concurrence is very tough, especially because of the fact that this year, instead of traditional five, we have exactly ten movies that will fight for this prestige award. Nominations came, and nobody was surprised…
The adventures of Jake Sully, as we all expected, went very well. Avatar won nine nominations so we guess that James Cameron has a lots of reasons to be satisfied! He’s biggest wish, as he said, was to give people movie, that will make them have a feeling they lived Avatar during the cinema projection. Guess he’s wish came truth, since the movie won a whole bunch of “technical” nominations. Among them, Avatar managed to win nomination for the best movie, and Cameron could go home with statue for the best director. Seems like excited action is moving from Pandora to Los Angeles, but this time without virtual cameras.
2010 BAFTA Nominations
The 2010 BAFTA nominations have been announced. The British film awards, celebrating talent both homegrown and international has become the main precursor to The Oscars.”The Hurt Locker,” “An Education” and “Avatar” leading the way with eight nods
The surprise on this year’s list is the Peter Jackson-produced and South Africa-set sci-fi film “District 9,” which secured seven nominations, one more than “Inglourious Basterds” and “Up in the Air.”
“The Hurt Locker” Triumphs at Producers Guild Awards (PGA)
After Avatar‘s victory at the Golden Globes and Inglorious Bastards‘ success at the Screen Actors Guild, Iraq war drama “The Hurt Locker,” has now locked in the top prize at the Producers Guild. it looks like this years Academy Awards ceremony is bound to have some surprises and excitement.
“Up” won the animated feature award and “The Cove” won the documentary trophy.
Inglourious Basterds and Nine Top BFCA Noms
The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) has announced the nominees for the 15th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. The winners will be announced at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards live on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. This year’s event will take place at the Hollywood Palladium and will be hosted by Kristin Chenoweth. For the third year in a row, VH1 will broadcast the gala live on the network.

New THE HURT LOCKER Poster and Pictures
We earlier posted trailer and poster of Iraq War movie “The Hurt Locker” and today we have new poster and pictures.
The Hurt Locker was inspired by true events and recently declassified information. The film follows an elite Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team in present-day Baghdad that fights an onslaught of bombs and snipers. Jeremy Renner plays the leader of the team, while Anthony Mackie and Brian Geraghty are members of it. Ralph Fiennes is a mercenary; Guy Pearce is another member of the team.

A brand new trailer for Kathryn Bigelow‘s highly-anticipated Iraq War movie “The Hurt Locker” has been premiered via Apple.
“The Hurt Locker,” winner of the 2008 Venice Film Festival SIGNIS Grand Prize, follows three elite members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) squad who volunteer to challenge the odds and save lives in the streets of Baghdad. When a new sergeant, James, takes over a highly trained bomb disposal team amidst violent conflict, he quickly surprises his two subordinates, Sanborn and Eldridge, when he recklessly plunges them into a deadly game of urban combat, to seek out and disarm deadly bombs in a thrilling race against time.
