“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Gets The Green Light!
The fourth saga in the Twilight Series, “Breaking Dawn” is going back to it’s roots and will be filmed in Portland, Oregon. David Slade is directing “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse“, but it is unknown if he will also direct any of the Breaking Dawn films. In addition, a new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought on board for “Breaking Dawn.” Karen Rosenfelt, daughter of former MGM Chairman & CEO Frank Edward Rosenfelt, served as Producer on both “Twilight” and on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse“. She did not work on “New Moon“, but is producing “Breaking Dawn” through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.
There will likely be quite a bit of tweaking to the fourth novel in the series due to the explicit sex and birth scenes to avoid an R rating. Inside sources confirm that Breaking Dawn may be filmed and released in two parts – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I“, and “Part II“. Although this has not been confirmed officially by Summit, author Stephenie Meyer has stated,
“It would have to be made into multiple movies because it’s hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes”.
Jackson Rathbone Injured on Twilight Eclipse Set
Twilight star Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale) has suffered a minor injury on the set of vampire movie sequel “Eclipse“, during a fight scene rehearsal, according to reports.
As a precaution, he was driven to the hospital and checked out by a doctor. He’s fine and is back at work on the set of “Eclipse,” Summit said in the official statement.
Greene told MTV that despite the pain, it’s all for the good of the movie.
It’s going really smoothly. It’s going really well…. We’re all working really hard and learning how to kick butt. I don’t know if you’ve seen recent pictures, but I have bruises all over my body. It’s those wires. It looks like a hand mark on my arm, and it’s definitely from wires.

Melissa Rosenberg, who penned the adaptations of “Twilight” and its sequel, “New Moon,” will also script “Eclipse.”
Stephenie Meyer herself release a quote, saying:
I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing “Eclipse”. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise. From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that “Eclipse” will be carrying on with that tradition.
Erik Feig adds:
Stephenie Meyer’s ‘Eclipse’ is a muscular, rich, vivid book and we at Summit looked long and hard for a director who could do it justice. We believe we have found that talent in David Slade, a director who has been able to create complex, visually arresting worlds.
