The final trailer and international poster for director Bryan Singer’s upcoming historical thriller “Valkyrie” is now online showing scenes about a daring plan to kill Adolph Hitler.

In a country in the grips of evil, in a police state where every move is being watched, in a world where justice and honor have been subverted, a group of men hidden inside the highest reaches of power decide to take action. Tom Cruise stars in the suspense film, VALKYRIE, based on the true story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (CRUISE) and the daring and ingenious plot to eliminate one of the most evil tyrants the world has ever known. Armed with a cunning strategy to use Hitler’s own emergency plan – known as Operation Valkyrie – these men plot to assassinate the dictator and overthrow his Nazi government from the inside. With everything in place, with the future of the world, the fate of millions and the lives of his wife and children hanging in the balance, von Stauffenberg is thrust from being one of many who oppose Hitler to the one who must kill Hitler himself.

Posted by Fiona 13 October, 2008 (1) Comment

Edwin A. Salt,” the film was supposed to star Tom Cruise as the title character, an CIA officer who’s accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy.

But now producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed to MTV that Angelina Jolie is in the movie.

“Jolie is the first person cast, and she is the most important person to be cast, too. It’s going to be a very exciting film, Phillip Noyce is directing it, and we are going to start in February. It’s a big spy movie on a big canvas with a lot of attitude.”

He also added: “How are we going to get out of this? Who is who? And all the great things you love in an intense spy movie. This has it, and a lot more attitude on top of it.”

We will probably know who is who in the next few months.

Tom Cruise and Sem Raimi Team Up for “Sleeper”

Tom Cruise Is a Sleeper ?

Tom Cruise Is a Sleeper ?

Tom Cruise and Sam Raimi will team up for a movie adaptation of the comic book “Sleeper“, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Even if Cruise opts not to do Sleeper, his interest in the project is propelling it forward, despite complicated rights issues that must be sorted out. Raimi has long been a fan of the book, and the project could have found homes at Sony and Regency if those issues hadn’t been so complex.

Written by Ed Brubaker with art by Sean Phillips, Sleeper, which ran from 2003-05, centers on an operative whose fusion with an alien artifact makes him impervious to pain and allows him to pass it on to others through skin contact. He is placed undercover in a villainous organization by an intelligence agency and falls for a member of the group, named Miss Misery.

Sleeper is the third project that Cruise has become associated with over the past two weeks –all three separate from his commitments at UA. In addition to “The Tourist“, the actor has expressed interest in the Working Title-Universal comedy “Food Fight.”

Tom Cruise to Star in Comedy “Food Fight”

Posted by Allan Ford 12 August, 2008 (0) Comment

Tom Cruise has been linked to Universal’s new high school cafeteria comedy “Food Fight“.

Cruise would play a snooty New York chef who, for some odd reason, is forced to cook in a school cafeteria.

Taking a step into comedy sounds like a good step for Cruise. As already said, he’s terrific in “Tropic Thunder“. He’s never really made a purely comedic film, only films with comedic elements, and that’s not for want of comedy talent.

Veteran scribe Adam Brooks who wrote and directed the enjoyable film “Definitely, Maybe” is attached to write the screenplay. A search for a director is under way.

Cruise next stars in historical action film “Valkyrie“, in which he plays a very serious role: Klaus von Stauffenberg, the Nazi commander who plotted to kill Hitler. I can’t wait to see it. From sneak preview reports – it’s a must-see movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
