“Ong Bak 2” has no actual connection with the first “Ong Bak” besides Tony Jaa’s involvement. The movie is directed by Thai martial artist Tony Jaa himself as his first feature film.
The script was written by stunt coordinator and filmmaker Panna Rittikrai who previously wrote the screenplay for “Ong Bak” and “Born to Fight”.
Ong Bak 2: The Beginning Trailer
Magnet and Apple has just released the new teaser trailer for Tony Jaa’s “Ong Bak 2: The Beginning.”
Plot: Set in the regal times of King Naresuan, Tien (Tony Jaa) is a man who was born into nobility but had it stripped from him after his parents were brutally murdered. During his childhood Tien learned Khon, a form of dance which is usually reserved for royalty. Although he didn’t know it yet, Khon would later prove to be an invaluable aide to him. After seeing his parents murdered at the tender age of 10, Tien is forced to live on the streets where he is eventually captured by a group of thieves who take him in and teach him how to steal and fight.
The film, directed by Tony Jaa and Panna Rittikrai (Kerd ma lui, The Bodyguard), stars Tony Jaa, Sorapong Chatree, Sarunyu Wongkrachang, Nirut Sirichanya, Santisuk Promsiri and Primorata Dejudom.
“Ong Bak 2: The Beginning” will be available on Amazon, VOD and XBox Live on September 25th and released theatrically on October 23rd, 2009.

Plot summary: Thailand, the fifteenth century. Prisoner of slave traders who are getting rid of it by delivering to the crocodiles, the young Tien is saved by the mysterious Chernang Commander Garuda bandits. Under his wing, the child will soon learn to master a multitude of martial arts techniques of warfare and handling of many weapons.
Now adults, Tien (Tony Jaa) passes tests with flying making him an accomplished fighter, and became one of the most respected members of Garuda. But the young man is driven since childhood by a dark desire for revenge that nothing can stop it. His target: the terrible Rajasena lord responsible for his misfortunes past, and it will reach its once formidable lieutenants defeated.

Three New “Ong Bak 2″ Posters
Three new posters for the upcoming Tony Jaa’s “Ong Bak 2” have been released. The third poster includes the shot of new character played by Dan Chupong (poster #3).

He becomes an outcast when he finds that his firm limbs weren’t made to pursue the specialty of his ancestors, but with the advice of a mysterious guru he’s able to develop a new style of fighting which mixes the strength of martial arts with the regal elegance of khon dance. Then he’s ready to go out and fight the enemy.

The guys over at Twitch got their hands on the first promo reel from “Ong Bak 2″ and if you’re a fan of modern martial arts movies, you probably know the name Tony Jaa. The acrobatic elephant-loving Thai cyclone is back in Ong Bak 2, once again snapping bones and whacking people with elbows, knees, palms, sticks, pots, bladed instruments and various household/village items.
