'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' gallery

Photos from Woody Allen’s ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona‘ were very popular and we hunted them from the start.
I suppose that the first trailer, which we have today, is something much better.
Enjoy!

‘Doomsday’ Movie Trailer

Posted by Allan Ford 19 January, 2008 (0) Comment

Neil Marshall who directed two of the best British horror/sci-fi films in recent memory, ‘Dog Soldiers’ and ‘The Decent’ returns with a post-apocalyptic vision of the future in ‘Doomsday.’

‘Doomsday’ movie still

In this trailer it starts with a strong nod to ‘28 Weeks Later’ as a virus ravaged Scotland is sectioned off to avoid contaminating the rest of the UK, not a bad idea?

Marshall’s love of James Cameron comes to the fore as heroine Rhona Mitra leads a crack team into the forbidden zone many years later in search of a cure in sequences ‘inspired’ by Aliens.

Then the whole thing goes a bit ‘Mad Max’ as a vagabond band of ’survivors’ lead by Malcolm McDowell go mental and much mayhem ensues.

Looks pretty decent, despite some wooden turns by the largely British cast, judge for yourself.

‘Teeth’ – First Five Minutes

Posted by Allan Ford 15 January, 2008 (0) Comment

Teeth

I love this new trend in Hollywood marketing, where in they show you the first five minutes of their most craptacular flicks for free. We got The Golden Compass and Alien Versus Predator 2 recently. Those flicks at least had a semblance of hope, but now we get Teeth. We were kinda scared about it after seeing the first trailer.

Afterall, what’s more scary that a girl with teeth in her vagina? Seriously. Way cool concept for a horror movie, but still do we really have to go down this path? Because once we do and the floodgates open then nothing is sacred. Just ask Britney.

We don’t get anything enticing, which is supposedly the point of showing us the first five minutes. If I don’t want to see it after this, how you gonna steal my $10 movie mogul man?

‘Prom Night’ Movie Trailer

Posted by Allan Ford 6 January, 2008 (0) Comment

06_prom_night_poster.jpgConfession time: I really enjoyed Red Eye. You know, that movie from 2005 with Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy on a plane? Not only did I enjoy it, I paid to see it in theaters. I’m not a horror fan by any stretch, but hey, a good chase scene is a good chase scene, and not only that, the movie was kind of funny. Go ahead, judge me all you want.

But even with Red Eye in mind, I was all prepared to rag all over the trailer for Prom Night, the latest movie to send a bunch of nubile teens to the slaughter at the hands of some crazed something or another. I guess I was grateful that it wasn’t some piece of technology responsible for the killings, but that wasn’t enough to make me stop shaking my head and mutter “Oh, the things this job forces me to think about for more than 10 seconds.”

Strange thing, though: Prom Night actually looks kind of fun. Meaning, it’s the kind of movie I could imagine myself going to see with a bunch of friends back in high school, the days when Jennifer Love Hewitt was making a career running away from a knife-wielding maniac. From what I can tell the movie involves no torture or elaborate torture devices, and is actually more of a cat-and-mouse chase between a bunch of promgoers and a psycho who is in love with one of them. Basically, it’s No Country for Old Men for teenage girls, except without the air gun and the whole “lament about the state of the world” thing.

Age Restricted ‘Semi-Pro’ Trailer

Posted by Allan Ford 26 December, 2007 (0) Comment

Semi-ProWill Ferrell has this strange ability to make a blockbuster, universally respected comedy, then turn around and make totally mediocre crap, but his career isn’t affected by it at all. Last spring he brought the world Blades of Glory, which made way more money than it deserved, and this February it will be Semi-Pro. It’s another raunchy comedy about some obscure sport, except this time instead of car racing or ice skating it’s semi-professional basketball.

Most of what we’ve seen for the movie so far is just teasers, but now there’s an age-restricted trailer available at this site, which has better security than most bars I’ve checked. They say they check your name and date of birth against the information on your driver’s license, but I haven’t checked to see if you can get past ‘em. In any case, if you’re old enough to buy a lottery ticket, you can check out the trailer and be presented with… a crazy amount of blowjob jokes. Continue Reading…

See The Signal Trailer Online

Posted by Allan Ford 22 December, 2007 (0) Comment

22_SignalMoviePoster.jpg I knew almost nothing about The Signal until the studio blindsided me with a promotional DVD that was, literally, “the signal,” asking me if I, “had the crazy?” Since then I’ve been anxiously awaiting more information about the movie, which is directed by three different directors as it tells a horror story from three perspectives. Sadly, information wasn’t exactly forthcoming, and the movie got pushed back several times.

Finally, a full trailer is online for The Signal, revealing more about the movie’s story and really drawing potential viewers in. It looks pretty promising, although it’s lost the “crazy” catchphrase, and even though it still doesn’t tell a lot about the story, at least we know it’s coming soon. The movie now has a February 22nd release date. Continue Reading…
