“Ninja Assassin” Behind-the-Scene Video
Some great footage from the set of the upcoming Wachowski brothers-produced action film “Ninja Assassin” has appeared online, showing several fight sequences, stunts and lots of ninjas.
Displaying first a distant shot of a group of ninjas running in the middle of a road with cars speeding in both of their sides, the footage let out the combat between the three ninjas. This behind-the-scene look also exposes Rain’s character covered in blood while running away from those who chase him.
Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge. Read the rest of this entry
‘Speed Racer’ International Movie Trailer
Few directors have ever pushed the envelope of visual filmmaking quite like The Wachowski Brothers. In 1999, they showed the world bullet-time in The Matrix and continued to wow us all the way through the trilogy. Say what you want about the last two films, but there is no denying that they looked sweet.
The same can be said for their upcoming film Speed Racer, which will be thrust into theaters on May 9th after making its world premiere on opening night at the Tribeca Film Festival. You may not dig actor Emile Hirsch (and I do not), you may think that the film looks goofy and cartoony (as many people do) and you may think that The Wachowskis have lost their marbles (we question whether they had any to begin with), but one thing is for sure: Speed Racer is going to be unlike anything we’ve seen in a long time.

‘Speed Racer’ - Two Brand New International Trailers

The studio that brought “10,000 B.C.” and “I Am Legend” Warner Bros. Pictures have released two brand new international trailers of the upcoming family movie “Speed Racer“. The trailers each last for about one and a half minutes and contain pretty much the same compilation of clips with different sequences.
The trailers showcase many never before seen footages from the highly anticipated film by the Wachowski brothers. The two video footages give out glimpses to the hard-core racing competition where a slightest mistake can cause a devastating result. Unlike the domestic trailer, these international trailers let out much of the animation parts from the film starring Emile Hirsch and Matthew Fox.
Scheduled to be opened simultaneously in conventional theaters and IMAX, “Speed Racer” will bow on May 9. The film follows Speed Racer, a natural behind the wheel race car driver, who follows racing competition to save his family racing business.

‘Speed Racer’ Goes IMAX

Speed Racer, Wachowski Brothers latest science fiction project has just been added to the growing list of summer blockbuster films to be shown on IMAX screens across the country this summer. In classic Wachowski fashion, all of their films have been in IMAX theaters including the graphic novel based V for Vendetta.
From first looks at the trailer, this film seems be designed for the IMAX screen. The thought of the Mach 5 racing from screen to screen will surly give me a sore neck, but the experience should be well worth it.
On top of all that, the filmmaking brothers who already have been on the forefront of revolutionary visual effects are planning on taking this film to the next level; they’re incorporating a new form of cinematography. Apparently they will be using a new form of “layering” in which they’ll put the foreground and the background of the scenes in a broader focus to give the film a real-life anime appearance.
The film is based on a popular Japanese animated series from the 1960’s. Actor Emile Hirsch who is known for portraying the lead role in the film The Girl Next Door is in the staring role as Speed along with Christina Ricci, portraying his girlfriend Trixie and Matthew Fox as the mysterious Racer X.
