When in Rome Review
“When in Rome” is a romantic comedy marketed as a product of “the studio that brought you The Proposal.” Disney’s Touchstone label is trying to strike lightning in a bottle again and imitate the success of Sandra Bullock’s summer hit. Although it falls short of that goal, When In Rome is entertaining, full of laughs and, as far as chick flicks go, is a sweet, romantic trip worth taking for audiences so inclined. Don Johnson Joins Two Projects: “Rome” and “Orgy”
Don Johnson has been cast in both Disney’s “When in Rome” and indie comedy “A Good Old Fashioned Orgy” says The Hollywood Reporter.
Johnson plays the father of a young woman (Kristin Bell – TV’s Veronica Mars) in Mark Steven Johnson‘s “When in Rome” who steals coins from an Italian fountain. However, she soon finds herself being pursued by numerous strangers who, having previously thrown coins into the fountain, are now in love with her.
Kristen Bell has signed for ‘When in Rome’
Variety reports that Bell has signed for the romantic comedy ‘When in Rome’, written by Mark Steven Johnson, and he will also direct.
Bell will star as “…a successful real estate agent in Gotham who can’t find a lasting relationship. When her younger sister impulsively marries in Rome, she flies out for the wedding and, after picking up coins from a reputed “fountain of love,” finds an overabundance of suitors waiting for her back home.”
‘When in Rome’ is due to start shooting on location in Rome and in New York this March. ‘When in Rome’ will be produced by Disney.
