Will Smith and Samuel L. Jackson Rumored To Star in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained
So, a few days ago we had a little chat about the upcoming Quentin Tarantino‘s project titled Django Unchained.
We mentioned then that a movie already involves Christoph Waltz, Treat Williams and Keith Carradine, but, as you guess, some fresh rumors just came in, and now we know that Will Smith is Tarantino’s first choice for the lead in the whole thing!
On the other hand, Tarantino is also hoping to cast Samuel L. Jackson for one of the key roles, and I guess that now is the right moment to say – wow!
Apparently, Tarantino wrote the script with Smith in mind, and thanks to Variety we know that he’s already been informally offered the role, as well as that “Smith would be willing to give up his usual $20 million salary for the chance to tackle different, more controversial material.”
Just in case you have no idea what we’re talking about now, the answer is – the themes of racism and the liberal use of the N-word, because, as we previously mentioned, the movie will follow:
“Django, a freed slave, who, under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself, and after assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner.”

We’re thrilled to have the two of them together on this project”

Alice Eve Joins Men In Black 3
Things with Barry Sonnenfeld‘s upcoming Men in Black 3 are definitely moving forward! We just learned two important facts about the project.
First, the project will re-start production next month. And, second – Alice Eve has been cast as the younger version of Men in Black Agency head Emma Thompson in the time travel storyline.
So, according to the latest reports, Eve will play the younger version of Men in Black Agency head Thompson. Deadline describes her character this way:
“the British actress plays Olivia, hired as secretary for the Agency in 1969. While it appears she was given the job because of her looks, Olivia is actually whip smart. Sure enough, in the contemporary storyline, Thompson runs the place.”
Hollywood’s Top 40 Earners in 2010
James Cameron, a Canadian film producer/director, won the No. 1 position on the film industry’s top-earners list, making him Hollywood’s richest man in 2010, according to a new list of film industry top-earners, which excludes TV and other non-film–related income.
The Avatar writer, producer and director made $257 million last year, mostly from Pandora-related box office and DVD sales and associated licensing. No doubt, big-time directors are the biggest money makers. Last year Michael Bay crossed the $100 million mark. This year, by the time Avatar plays out on broadcast television, James Cameron will make close to $350 million.
Johnny Depp was selected for the second place on the list of top-earning stars, directors and producers. The list estimated Depp’s pull for the year at $100 million. That broke down as $40 million for Alice in Wonderland, $35 million for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and $20 million for The Tourist co-starring.
Will Smith and Jay-Z Make Annie Remake – Confirmed
Few days ago we reported that Will Smith and Jay-Z are planning to do that Annie remake, and that Smith’s daughter Willow will (obviously) star in it.
Today, we have the same news, only with official details that Jay-Z will team-up with Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment as a co-producer on the project.
Sony Pictures Entertainment will help develop the remake.
Just in case you have no idea why the whole thing is being revamped, check out what the rest of this report.

Beyonce in Clint Eastwood Remake of A Star is Born
Warner Bros. confirms that Clint Eastwood and Beyonce are in negotiations to remake the 1937 classic. Eastwood is in talks to direct, while Beyonce, who has been attached to the project for some time, would star.
This marks the biggest starring role to date for the former member of Destiny’s Child, who has also been part of an ensemble or turned in supporting performances in earlier films like Dreamgirls, Cadillac Records and Obsessed. In this film, she would certainly be a brand name in a very juicy role.
“A Star is Born” the story of a talented, motivated starlet whose career alters thanks to the alcoholic, aging actor who falls in love with her – first shown in 1937 with Janet Gaynor in the lead role, was remade in 1954 with Judy Garland and then again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand.
Will Smith to Develop Annie Remake for his Daughter Willow?
Do we really need another remake? Do we really need a remake of the musical Annie?
Well, if you ask Will Smith – his answer is definitely yes.
Smith had recently developed The Karate Kid for his son, Jaden, and now, it’s his daughter Willow.
She will play the title role in a remake of Annie.
And, that’s not all. Jay-Z is in talks to collaborate on the music, which is not actually a surprise, since Willow Smith is currently an artist on Jay-Z’s Roc Nation imprint, which is a partnership between the chart-topping rapper and Live Nation, the largest live entertainment company in the world.
