Johnny Depp stars opposite his fan!
Johnny Depp will be starring alongside one of his biggest fans in his new movie ‘Public Enemies‘.
The fan paid a staggering $91,000 to appear as an extra in a non-speaking role opposite the Johnny Depp.
Money from the charitybuzz.com auction will go to the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial, a living memorial which aims to “advance the human rights movement through providing innovative support to courageous human rights defenders around the world who have won the RFK Human Rights Award”.
‘Hancock’ New Official Photo
USA Today posted a sneak peek at Hancock, the new Will Smith flick directed by Peter Berg.
“He does as much damage as good,” Berg says from the set on Hollywood Boulevard, where he and crews have turned over trucks, set fires and scattered plastic rubble to turn Los Angeles into a city of ruin.
Columbia Buys ‘The Long Run’ spec
In another sign that the town is waking up from the slumber brought on by the WGA strike, Columbia has pre-emptively plunked down low-seven figures for “The Long Run,” a spec by scribe Stephen Belber.
Will Smith will produce via his Overbrook banner.
Also producing are Overbrook’s James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz. Smith is not attached to star.
The script centers on a journalist who helps exonerate a highly charismatic death row inmate of a crime he didn’t commit. When the former inmate is recruited to run for elected office, the journalist leaves his post to orchestrate his rise to political prominence but soon faces a crisis of conscience as he discovers that his friend might be guilty of murder after all.
This script is timely and provocative with two great parts,” said Columbia president Doug Belgrade, who also praised the company’s long-standing relationship with Overbook and cited its work on “The Pursuit of Happyness” as making them “the perfect producer for this dramatic material.
Playwright Belber wrote the script before directing his feature debut, the Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy “Management,” which he helmed during the strike. His reps at ICM waited until the appropriate time after the strike to package it.
‘I Am Legend’ Alternate/Original Ending
The DVD for I Am Legend will be released March 18, 2008, and will include an alternative ending.

Recently, even Barack Obama staked his claim on the actor he’d like to portray him: Will Smith. The Democratic presidential hopeful claimed “Will and I have talked about this because he has the ears!”
Will Smith wins damages over Hitler claim
Will Smith won an apology and undisclosed damages in a London court on Friday over a false claim that he had described World War Two Nazi leader Adolf Hitler as a ‘good person’.
Smith was left deeply distressed and acutely embarrassed over the wrong story published by an entertainment newswire service, the High Court heard.
Smith’s comments, originally published in the Scottish Daily Record newspaper, were then ‘wholly misrepresented’ by the London-based World Entertainment News Network (WENN), Judge David Eady was told.
The agency, which says on its website that it provides information to more than 1,000 media outlets in 25 countries, picked up the interview and then wrongly published worldwide a story headlined ‘Smith: Hitler was a good person’.

Top 10 Moneymakers in Movie World
Johnny Depp pillaged the most money for theaters in 2007, in a survey of movie exhibitors.
Depp, star of ’Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ and ’Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’, has nabbed the No.1 spot for the second year in a row.
The survey, conducted every year since 1932, asks movie exhibitors to vote for the 10 stars who generated the most box-office revenue for their theaters.
Will Smith, now starring in ’I Am Legend’ placed second on the list, followed by George Clooney, Matt Damon, Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, Nicolas Cage, Will Ferrell and Tom Hanks.
Meanwhile, this was the first time in 24 years that exhibitors haven’t included a woman in the top tier of moneymakers, despite the success of Katherine Heigl and Keira Knightley.

After kicking ass at the box office this weekend with his latest film I Am Legend, it looks like Will Smith will kick ass again this coming summer.
Smith plays a down-and-out superhero who has a bad image with the public because he causes a lot of collateral damage while he solves crime, and he’s an alcoholic. Bateman plays a corporate public relations consultant, who after being rescued by Smith tries to repay him by revamping his image. But while Bateman is trying to repair Smith’s reputation the superhero is secretly romancing Bateman’s alluring wife played by Theron.
