‘X-Men 4′ – First Details

A good news is coming to the Marvel’s fans as latest report suggests that following “X-Men: The Last Stand” and the upcoming spin-off “X-Men Origins: Wolverine“, a new “X-Men” movie will be made. In fact, it is said that the script is being developed by Josh Schwartz, the creator of hit television teen drama “Gossip Girl“.
The outing of the speculation has allegedly been done by Schwartz himself when he talked to Black Book Magazine. Reportedly stating that the new installment will be “a prequel of sorts”, the screenwriter of “The O.C.” revealed his involvement by stating, “I’m very well aware that I’ll be bludgeoned by purists, but I love its mythology, and it comes with a pretty hefty paycheck.” The 31-year-old scribbler further confessed that the new film will resolve around a teenager who is attending the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. Hugh Jackman And Marc Guggenheim Create ‘Nowhere Man’
Hugh Jackman may be known for his Wolverine character–which he is currently shooting–but it seems that he’s branching out and creating a new comic as well. Hugh will team with showrunner Marc Guggenheim (”Eli Stone”) and Virgin Comics to bring a new comic series called Nowhere Man to shelves near you. The plan is also to adapt it into a movie with Jackman set to lead. The trade reports the story being kept under wraps, but Jackson’s Seed Productions partner John Palermo said it features a protagonist reminiscent of the one Will Smith played in I Am Legend. The concept is a futuristic world where mankind has traded privacy for safety, a premise that sprouted with Seed, Virgin CEO Sharad Devarajan and chief creative officer Gotham Chopra.
Palermo:
This is our first comic, and we feel the concept is transferable to other arenas, perhaps first as a video game, and then a movie
Jackman:
I’ve had so much fun in the graphic novel world with the ‘X-Men’ franchise that I wanted to get even more involved. I’m excited to work with Virgin and Marc and create a compelling character and story that hopefully will also make it to the big screen.
First Look Of Liev Schreiber As Creed
Some new Sydney set photos have appeared online for X-Men Origins: Wolverine which gives us an chance to check out Liev Schreiber in his Victor Creed persona-military days alongside Hugh Jackman’s character. The film will hit theaters May 1, 2009.
There’s plenty of photos right here.
Kodi Smit-McPhee to drop out ‘Wolverine’
Just when it seemed that all the pieces were falling into place for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the change in shooting schedules on director Gavin Hood’s Logan Year One tale has forced newbie Kodi Smit-McPhee to drop out of playing the youngling adamantium-clawed wild thing.
Already committed to John Hillcoat’s adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy thriller The Road (alongside Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron), the oddly monikered newcomer has seen the coveted superhero mantle passed over to equally bizarrely named pretender, Troye Mellet.
Still on target for a May 1, 2009 release, the casting reshuffle shouldn’t cause too many problems with the production.
According to latest reports, the young star of ‘Juno’ Ellen Page, alos, has dropped out from the Sam Raimi’s newest feature film project ‘Drag Me to Hell’. She has quit the project because she “didn’t like the latest draft of the script”.
However, MoviesOnline claimed that according to a joint statement from Ghost House Pictures and Mandate Pictures, the Canadian actress is no longer available for the project due to scheduling conflicts.
New pic of Wolverine
And here we have an exclusive new image of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Teaser Poster
There have been a lot of fake posters and movie images going around lately, so I have no idea if this teaser poster for “Wolverine” is real or not. It has a website URL that leads to the Fox website, if that means anything.
First Look: Prequel Gets Its Claws Into ‘Wolverine’
As if a guy with temper issues, iron blades for fingernails and a penchant for cage fighting needed it, Wolverine is about to get even surlier.
“I know it seems odd given, you know, the guy is already half animal,” says Hugh Jackman, who revives the character in Wolverine, due in theaters May 1, 2009. “But with all the success of the X-Men, you feel the pressure to keep pushing it further.”
Jackman, also a producer on the film, says he never expected the story of mutants trying to fit in “to catch on the way it did.” (Since the first film hit screens in 2000, the X-Men franchise has taken in more than $1.1 billion worldwide.) “But I became a fan of Wolverine like everyone else. That’s why I keep holding on to the character.”
Wolverine will be a prequel to the X-Men saga. It will center on the origins of the superhero with animal-like reflexes, an alloy skeletal system and the ability to heal from virtually any wound. He also could use a friend.
“I think one of the reasons the X-Men took off is that it connected in a way nobody saw,” Jackman says. “They’re mutants with powers. But they’re also outcasts for being, and everyone connects with that on some level. And who wouldn’t want the power to get back at the people who ostracized you?”
The film will trace Wolverine’s past as he discovers the world of mutants and, ultimately, the ominous Weapon X program, which turns people into living weapons.
Jackman is tight-lipped on plot details, though he says the film will hardly be a one-mutant story.
Wolverine’s nemesis Sabretooth “is going to play a big part in it. And there will be a good bit of cameos” of new and familiar mutants, he says. “But you can’t give too much away, because fans are pretty hard-core. Their expectations go up a level every time you come out with a new film.”
