Silver Samurai Confirmed as The Wolverine Villain
All Wolverine fans are going to love us after this report. Or, maybe kill us for spoiling the whole thing? Well, we’ll take the responsibility for this one! After all, it’s not our fault, so blame it on Hugh Jackman!
So, here we are to share what Mr. Jackman had to say about the upcoming sequel of X-Men Origins: Wolverine while making an appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
So, while promoting Real Steel on Thursday, Jackman was so kind to tell us all who the villain will be in The Wolverine.
“I’m filming Les Miserables in February, but before that I will be filming Wolverine 2 in October. Chris McQuarrie has written a fantastic script and it should turn out really good. I’ll fight the ‘Silver Samurai’ in it so that should be exciting. Most of the filming will take place in Japan.”
Hugh Jackman Developing Wolverine 2
Variety confirms recent rumors that Hugh Jackman is now in development on a sequel to the weekend hit “X-Men Origins: Wolverine“. With Wolverine earning $87 million in the US and $160 million combined in its opening weekend, 20th Century Fox has already given the go for the sequel to be made.
No writer has been hired but the sequel is expected the focus on the Logan in Japan samurai storyline from the comic book series.
Jackman previously spoke of the Japanese saga from the comic book.
“There are so many areas of that Japanese story,” he said. “I love the idea of this kind of anarchic character, the outsider, being in this world – I can see it aesthetically, too – full of honor and tradition and customs and someone who’s really anti-all of that, and trying to negotiate his way. The idea of the samurai, too – and the tradition there. It’s really great. In the comic book he gets his ass kicked by a couple of samurai – not even mutants. He’s shocked by that at first.”
X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE Review
X-Men Origins: Wolverine kicks off the summer of 2009 not with a bang, but a semi-enthusiastic, ‘could have been better but it’s okay enough for an action film if that’s all it aspires to be’ whimper. Whimper’s not exactly the right word as that implies Wolverine completely sucks. It doesn’t. The action is eye-popping and in your face and the acting is spot on. Hugh Jackman does everything possible to make this fourth X-Men movie sparkle, but the story lets our mutant hero down…read more [about.com]
A lot of people have complained about the entire story being a mess. I don’t need my X-Men movies to have the most fat-free, streamlined story arcs. But that comes with being a fan of the comic, and there were a ton of back issues mined for source material in the film. They tried to fit in a lot, and maybe to the film’s detriment in the eyes of Joseph Campbell purists. But I want my X-Men flicks crammed with Mutants, and we get a lot of ‘em we haven’t seen before: Blob, Wraith, Emma Frost, Agent Zero, and then a couple of guys known as Deadpool and Gambit. (Not necessarily a good thing in the case of the latter.)…read more [Screen Junkies]

Wolverine’s Got Milk
Wolverine’s unique mutant power is the ability to rebuild his body far faster than any ordinary human. His secret is simple: Milk. Milk contains protein that helps build muscle and a unique mix of nutrients that helps refuel tired bodies after a workout.
Wolverine is the latest superhero to join the Body By Milk(R) campaign created to encourage teens to drink three glasses of lowfat or fat free milk every day, eat right and be active to stay lean and healthy. Other superheroes who have modeled the iconic ‘stache include Batman, the Fantastic Four, Superman and the Incredible Hulk.
