Avatar Banner – Comic-Con ’09
ComingSoon has just posted a photo of the “Avatar” banner that is now flying over the San Diego Convention Center and which gives us our first look at the face of a Na’vi alien from James Cameron‘s highly anticipated sci-fi epic.
The film tells the story of an ex-Marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.
AVATAR: First Footage and Photos
James Cameron premiered a 24-minute footage from his highly anticipated sci-fi epic “Avatar” at Cinema Expo in Amsterdam. According to Cameron much of the 24-minute footage came from the first third of the film, but also some battle scenes from later in the film. Cameron also stated that he hopes theater owners will convert to 3D as soon as possible, but also notes that “Avatar” will work on any screen.

Six images from the video game based on James Cameron‘s upcoming 3D film “Avatar” have been revealed today. Using the same designers and artists on both projects, the landscapes feature lush rainforests with 1,000 foot-tall trees, floating mountain ranges and massive stone arches.
