Oscar Against Comedy?
What happened with all good old films that used to make us cry out of laughter? Really, guys, I want to see some movies that will make me laugh.
Ok, maybe we became too occupied with every day routine, maybe we still think too much about our jobs, money, family problems? Problems with our neighbors? No, no, I’m not hinting on any movie… (yet)!
While watching this year’s Oscar nominations, one can’t help but wonder – why isn’t there category for best Comedy? Go out and tell some director – “man, that was a good job, here’s the Oscar!” Is it possible that somewhere out there does not exist some great, funny masterpiece that will make our stomach hurt?
Or is there some problem in Academy policy that just thinks that is not worth our attention? And yes, we do understand that we’re living in some crazy time, where money rules everything, so we’re not trying to act like some saints with mission to return stumbled world on a right direction. We just want to laugh! From time to time! Are we asking too much?! Or, does that cost too much?
Biggest Movie Mistakes of 2009
It’s been a bumper year for Hollywood, with box office takings totalling over $10 billion, but there is one big total they might not be so proud of – fans have spotted over 900 mistakes in this year’s releases, submitting them to website moviemistakes.com. A few of the mistakes:
New Moon mistakes: After Bella awakes from the first nightmare, we see her Romeo and Juliet book on the pillow beside her. When Charlie brings in her presents the book is gone, but then reappears on the pillow between shots.

Terminator Salvation mistakes: The four-door Jeep Wrangler used in the movie wasn’t made until 2007, three years after the date of Judgment Day as established in Terminator 3 (Saturday 24th July 2004).
When Barnes and Marcus Wright are helping John Connor back to the chopper and when Barnes gets in the helicopter, he’s revealed to be a stand in. It’s in plain sight, at the right side of the screen.
Zombieland Review
Zombieland‘s not much of a horror movie. There are some really good scares in the first act, and it’s set in a world that’s been devastated by zombies (but not, I think, the undead. These zombies seem to be much more like the Rage-infected types from 28 Days Later and less like the ghouls of George A. Woody Harrelson Joins “Zombieland”
Woody Harrelson has signed up to appear in Columbia Pictures‘ horror comedy “Zombieland“.
Rueben Fleischer is directing from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (The Joe Schmo Show). “Zombieland” revolves around two survivors of a zombie infestation who must look past their differences to fight off the undead. Harrelson will play one of the survivors, dubbed Albequrque.
